  1. I understand how you feel, sometimes I still mourn, I have days when everyone is eating cake or fill in the blank something in the office and I can't and no one seems to care I am left with nothing. I feel better thinking about how much better my health is and overall I feel great. You will feel so much better and since you have done the diet for a few months...
  2. Glad to hear everything is good! :)
  3. Soft music lullabys or just soft instrumentals are very relaxing, I can be having a hard time falling asleep and using a soft music celiac disease will help me drift off. Is this the kind of help you are looking for?
  4. I buy Tinkyada at Wegmans and sometimes I stock up when it goes on sale for 1.99 a bag. It is the best pasta and it tastes like regular pasta.
  5. I had a stomach virus last weekend and the effects lingered around, it wasn't gluten. I know a ton of other people who had the same problems in the last few days. Sometimes I forget that just we are gluten free doesn't mean you will escape the everyday ills. I totally understand about the cramps....mine were so bad I thought I was going to ask John to take...
  6. Happy Birthday! Barenaked Ladies now that is a cool gift!!!
  7. I actually have Comcast(no happy about it but...) anyway, I missed it. I rarely watch TV anymore. Sad that the program was such a flop. We want people to take us seriously and then this gets shown....ugh!
  8. LOL....poor wheat *rolls eyes*
  9. Very good article, and it is true foods then are so much better than the junk that is put into them now.
  10. I second Mtndog's response on that...sometimes the MD's don't even know which is end up....
  11. within an hour after I eat something bad, if I take Immodium it usually will clear up within a few hours, but for bad glutenings, man I suffer with loose movements for a few days....
  12. That is so neat, I might check this show out.
  13. 2 years ago, I had real bad stomach pains like you mentioned and when I went to the ER and they did tests, I was found to have gastritis which is very painful. It came on all of a sudden and I was scared! I couldn't move I was in so much pain, Nothing took it away either. At the ER they made me drink this funny stuff and they gave me the IV pain meds, which...
  14. The story of my like.. When I get gluten I get this whole other side of me, I could care less about anything and anyone. I am very tired, moody, and emotional. I worked in a lab and the few months I was real sick before I found out I had celiac I just flat out didnt care, it showed in my work ethic and how I treated my coworkers. Once I got on the diet...
  15. The other night I had a dream I was diagnosed with liver cancer, and everything was so real. The biopsies, bloodwork, and all the clinic visits. I remember every part of the dream, I remember breaking the news to my fiance and my family. I remember starting the chemo....it was too real. I work in the Oncology department at a hospital, so I link it to...
  16. I think my Hospital uses Quest or AML in Virigina. We are a big facility but we send a lot of stuff out. I believed the Celiac panels go to AML.
  17. I use Ortega all the time, no problems. I actually made Taco's last night.
  18. I would give money if towards a fundraiser but if it was just to cover food expenses, I would not bother. I cannot believe they would deny her participation, that's horrible and what does it teach the kids. Kids pick up on things. I like the chinese food idea. Sounds good!
  19. That is the one reason I did not buy the product, I thought it would be too hot and since John doesn't like spicy stuff at all, it wasn't worth wasting it all if I didn't like it. The stroganoff meal was good though.
  20. Happy Birthday!! Enjoy it!
  21. It sounds like your church is a very fun place, I bet it really gets the kids motivated to come. I wish ours was like that.
  22. I had my labs drawn at my doctors office (through the hopsital I work at) We did not do the celiac panels in our facility they get sent out to a special lab which does a lot of our special tests not just celiac panels. My insurance covered it and it was very accurate.
  23. At the hospital where I work, I saw they accomodate special diets and celiac is one of them, I just don't have any experience with actually "staying" here long enough to get a meal. So not sure, but I would probably bring some of my own food, like others said you really don't want to be sick especially at such a joyous time.
  24. I remember the Big Comfy Couch, with her dolly Molly, my mom's foster child, Jenna loves that show and tried to do the stretches with the girl on it.
  25. I have a store near me which is all gluten-free items, and then I shop at Wegmans, those are my only two big shopping places for the special food.
