  1. You should, even *I* am goign to try to bake it! today, maybe!! I've hesitated, though, because I have really been reacting to flax seeds lately. I don't think I can eat them at all, in fact. so, I'm wondering if I"ll react to them in ground form - guess I won't know until I try. I know some of you have said you've substituted flours, but I am assuming...
  2. what? obviously you have me mistaken for someone else, Jess! guilty! where do you get the rice papers? I'll try this....hey I think I'm also goign to make that bread in your avatar today! or sticky buns! how I miss those.......
  3. If you look at Stokie's headings, "NO celiacs can have soy" and "toilet paper is dusted with flour!" (not exact wording), I think these very bold statements just incite passionate responses, period. I truly think it was all in her presentation, and as Scott pointed out, lack of valid resources to back it up. I may be totally and completely wrong in this...
  4. oh my gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd - - - that cleaning video almost made me SICK - - blech - - watching people clean ( or just be around) disgusting stuff like that is too much for me - - I couldn't finish it, once they showed him stripping the bed - - - - EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! But anywho I managed to do some successful cleaning, thank you Nikki. ...
  5. Happy Birthday, and have fun celebrating all weekend!
  6. Hi Jacey, I don't know about the connection to Celiac and Reynauds, but many on here have the pain you mentioned. Gluten and Celiac seem to be connected to SO many ills, adn if you feel significantly better on a low-carb diet, I suspect that you may be Celic. welcome to the board. Remember that if you are tested, you should still be consuming...
  7. Thanks Bev, for helping the techno-challenged and posting the Toot Tone. If we combine that mechanism with teh charcoal fart filter thingy, I think we're onto something. Patti! You might have to stay away from the Silly Yak thread during your convalesence!!!
  8. ha ha ha ha, I KNOW how funny that is because I sent it to you (and Lynne sent it to me) Yes, we MUST resurrect this thread! WHERE IS RICHARD??????? is he broken up with us or something? I am doing everything I can to keep from cleaning the house.
  9. My blood pressure was REALLY low all my life, and in recent years would be like Donna's, at times. I would almost black out when standing.....I remember once it was something like 84 over 48.... and now, one year gluten-free, it is totally normal. I have no idea how it relates to Celiac, except that now I am absorbing nutrients, and blood/vitamin...
  10. I know, can you believe it? I would be on here, posting away in whining, dramatic rants about my surgery and pain And she just goes about everything, stoically and quietly, lovely sort of regal moderator that she is!! Very glad to have you back, Patti.
  11. It's like...."crunchy. " YOu know, a not-so-new-term for crunch-muffins (kind of earthy, Birkenstock-wearing hippie-ish types, probably so-named because they used to make their own granola?). I am just a bit crunchy myself, except that I do get my hair dyed in a salon (it's half-gray now), and I do wear makeup. so, maybe that cancels it out.........
  12. Angie, I DO think that this will improve the longer you're gluten-free, as it has for me. (of course, I could actually USE a little of that disorder in my own personality .....I have no trouble speaking my mind....but I HAVE noticed the reverse - - I am much calmer and don't need to assert myself as often. ) yup. Yes,...
  13. oh dear.....them's fighting words.....I would get in LOTS of trouble in this group....... Maybe even get kicked out.....
  14. Great news, Tiffany, as the tiny corn tortillas are frustrating for wraps......and according to their site, they are sold at about 15 stores in my area. thanks!
  15. I safely eat many foods that aren't labelled gluten-free, and I of course read lables religiously. I don't eat processed food at all any more (unless you cound the occasional potato chip, which contain only three ingredients, or Trader Joe's Flax Seed Soy Corn tortilla chips - my downfall but definitely gluten-free). If there's any doubt at all, I don't...
  16. Yup, just what Bev and Rusla said, NO sitting, no standing either, just LYING ABOUT, throw in the occasional moan, and eat the appropriate bon-bons!! Maybe Mark can peel grapes for you and fan you gently, or mop your brow with a cool compress? So glad you're back! Get lots of rest and we'll see you later! hugs......
  17. Yeah, good for you for posting! this sounds yummy, I think I'll try it soon!
  18. HI Sherri - Yes, it IS gross......I'm sorry you have it! I got it a few years ago while taking a really strong antibiotic (name escapes me) for C. Difficile. I had a furry, white, coated tongue for almost two weeks. So disgusting. As best as I can remember, it just went away on its own - - I wasn't aware of any treatment for it, seems that it just...
  19. awwwwwwww Bev, this is not good. Just rest and sleep TONS and cuddle with that bundle of fur. I am so sorry, you'll be in my prayers for speedy recovery. You have had a really heinous year, let's hope this is the worst of 2007 for you. {{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
  20. Oh my gosh, this sounds easy enough for even ME. Two questions.....what is garfava flour - - I assume I can get it at my health store? and also, what type of vinegar did you use? I can't wait to try this!
  21. Patti - - - praying for a speedy recovery, and try to enjoy your down time (I mean, let the pills take you to your magic place!) We look forward to seeing you and your sweet kitty upon your return.
  22. and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you too!! 2007 is going to be great for all of us, I just feel it. Bev - hysterical, the dino sheets AND the cat/toddler slap! Excellent! yes, let's get the silliness rolling again......missed you Yaks..... here's something fun: off to walk the girls and then onto work! RICHARD - - - come back ...
  23. oh THANK YOU!!! I feel so much better and so will she. Good news, BroncoBux and thanks for the thorough response. Yes, I do think DUI's are common, unfortunately, among youth. She has a pretty stellar record otherwise and graduated magna cum laude from UNLV......so maybe a plea bargain is the thing to do. I don't know if we'll pursue anything with...
  24. Hey everybody...I can't reach any of the attorneys I know today and need some help! I have a very distraught and sobbing 23-y-old niece who was fired last night from the pub where she worked. A little background info: niece contacted the Labour Board to report their widely-known crooked methods (just one example - - having their accountant remove overtime...
  25. Cosmo Olivia and the Swinging Dingo Silly Yaks BTW isn't the word DINGO such a fun word, and so useful for so many things? I do like to say it Dippity-do was a very strong, stiff gel-like goop in a jar, used to "manage" hair. I guess one of the first hair gel products. VERY stiff and crazy, I believe that hair could virtually...
