  1. aw Bev...... You really do need a time of just....good things and peace. Your friends...what they need is miracles. Nice to see you and I truly hope things calm down for you soon.
  2. these DO sound good! Just wondering...instead of the egg replacer, should I just use one egg? Would like to make an attempt....have not baked ONE THING since going gluten-free in January.
  3. HI everybody... Hi Andrea.....BIG HUGS for you right now....stressful time and you must be tired. Take extra good care of yourself and I hope your dad goes home soon. JUDY - welcome back. Nice to see your smiling face
  4. I had pretty significant D from the two times I ate cheetos....I am pretty sure it's the MSG - evil stuff and I completely avoid it now.
  5. OMG I read Nicholas and Alexandra in the fourth grade, and my brain has since turned to mush...I can't remember please tell me what happened to Rasputin....
  6. Oh not another week! That is heinous and don't you hate it when they do that! I hope you can somehow relax all week....
  7. GFP - I read the New Yorker review.....not all of it....am in a hurry...but, some of those things the writer points out I think are style errors and preference.....not entirely sure, though. Perhaps one of our linguists or English teachers could help us here? Just have to say - reading "Eats Shoots and Leaves" by your firefighter friend to cancel...
  8. It is always bittersweet, the memories, and certain days.... Would it help if you told us about him? I, for one, don't know anything about him - what was he like, what he liked to do, and how he died? If it's too sad for you, don't worry, but I always felt that it helped ME in talking about my dad and brother, as though somehow it keeps their spirits alive...
  9. excellent....the Newfie humour (we never hear anything about Newfies in California - virtually never so you are all educating me) Lorka - I tend to agree with you - people are too sensitive but everyone's threshhold is different. Important to laugh at ourselves, though. Seinfeld - the meanest show ever - I just quit watching re-runs a couple of years...
  10. OMG I just popped in....it's the quickest drive-by....and saw this post. PLUS learned that Andrea's hubby had surgery? I hope he is well, I don't even know what it was for, I'll read later, but give him the GOOD stuff - no Tylenol! Rachel - curious test. The first four are neurotransmitters in the brain, regulating well-being and moods...I have never...
  11. YES, that's it! OMG I don't remember them moving the house AT ALL....I do remember the ashes in the toilet and the dump....who could forget that? Kevin Spacey, that's right, and he was courting Juliann Moore's character? very quirky...didn't see the movie....hardly remember the book..but that is how my brain is for gawd's sake.....have lost chunks...
  12. Sigh indeed. OMG - I would not even have thought to avoid the chocolate fountain - - - yes I AM getting stupid-er....not kidding.....wouldn't have thought of the crumb contamination! my mom and I bought one today at Costco (which will end up at Goodwill ) for some friends....I thought happily that I could use it at their house....but that United Way party...
  13. Stephanie I don't think you've lost your sense of humour. Letterman CAN be rude! he's a complete nut. But, I actually have seen Leno, who I thought was milder, harass and embarass people in a way that Letterman hasn't done in years and years (I think his quintuple bypass and birth of his son have mellowed him quite a bit). I missed the pectin joke......
  14. I've been watching Dave for as long as he's been on....just this year falling asleep too early most of the time. I don't think he's gluten-intolerant, but, he rarely discusses anything in his personal life....he has many writers who write most of the jokes but he does throw in his own goofy stuff. I think he's totally being silly in this case. It doesn...
  15. I forgot about Innova! That is a very good dog food also and yes, that avoids the "gluten dust" issue for you! Your pets will be healthier and so will you.
  16. Good! Your dog will LOVE it. It is my dogs' favorite all-time food, they gobble it up instantly. My vet recommended it for Tika's chronically bad stomach (she's a lymphoma survivor, went through chemotherapy so we thought her cancer had internalized due to constant stomach issues), so we switched about four months ago. I didn't read the ingredients, just...
  17. Not only have I heard of it, but, it cured my older dog's chronic, terrible diarrhea and gas, so I think she's Celiac (animals get it too!). It's called Bil Jac, and it's not cheap.....but very healthy. Both of my girls are on it, and we have nice, solid stools every day!
  18. TWINKIES HAVE GLUTEN????? oh Lordy I am in big trouble now....
  19. excellent idea......
  20. Butt Paste was featured on Oprah one day, and it is actually real. good stuff. Um, the kitty eating plastic bags....it's called PICA.....my mom's cat eats plastic all the time, they have to be extra-vigilant to keep the plastic away....crazy.... I'm too tired and cranky to even be funny or witty. Hi Jules! Welcome to the lunatic thread...
  21. HI Matilda! Yes, I really was serious.....I want to see what will happen and how long I'll be sick! I WANT some donuts!! Krispy Kreme....I remember, years and years ago, readign about those doughnuts with that name, they were only in the South at that time, and the name itself just made me crazy - couldn't wait to try one - but actually, they are kind...
  22. FIRST I just have to say ....to all of you nuts...this is LITERALLY my first laugh of the day....not a good day..... then this..... yup, the vaccine.....ha ha ha ha ha JUDY - - are you gone? have so much fun! that one about killed me Miss Robbin..... anywho, I am confused in "my own" so-called...
  23. Interesting....everything I've read in the past says she's on a Raw Foods diet. Totally organic and nothing cooked above.....is it something like 110 degrees?
  24. Oh! Elonwy sometimes I skim posts and didn't read about your friend. So sorry about that. Please don't eat the Popey's.
  25. Well I am TOTALLY going to cheat one day, soon....have been thinking about this....and I am going to eat donuts (chocolate cake and one Krispy Kreme) and my mom's cookies, maybe some KFC but no pizza, curiously, and whatever else I want.....am going to see how bad it is......since I am not working now, I can be sick for half a day and don't care that much
