  1. Tone's will list gluten ingredients, but I'm not sure about sulphites or if it's in canada or not.
  2. I checked out the CM stuff. The only thing Meg has is gagging of the symptoms. I'll mention it to the drs., though. About the only specialist she doesn't have now is a neurologist, so why not get them involved too? It was a gastric emptying test to check her motility. Nuclear medicine thing. My husband convinced me to forget the TED for now...
  3. I'm also yeast infection free after going gluten free. I used to have one almost all the time. Started when I was 11, before I even started my periods. there are 3 female in my exteded familyt that I think have celiac. All of them also have chronic yeast infections. Hadn't put it all together until reading this.
  4. Just watned to send hugs your way. Hope you feel better soon! Glad you have a dr. who listens.
  5. Oh well, if it doesn't poison us or give us cancer, it's a really cool idea.
  6. As for the diet, I had added corn to my list and that didn't seem to be helping either. I found the TED on Friday and started it on Sat. Things seemed to have gotten worse after that. I can't figure out what's related to what anymore. The only think I'm 100% sure of is that if I eat gluten, she stops gaining weight, becomes anemic (severely), lethargic...
  7. Thanks. This diet only allows rice, sweet potatoes, turkey, sea salt, squash and pears. I added canola oil because I had to ahve some fat. Supposedly this diet is low allergenic and will allow you to add in foods after reactions calm down. I think she's worse on it. I think I may just trash the idea. We don't know that it's food causing it, but just...
  8. I know I haven't been as active on here as usual, but I've been at other forums looking for answers for Megan and her constant gagging and retching. I'm trying to find a solution before 7/5 when they have a scope planned. The cardiologists don't want her to be put to sleep unless absolutely necessary. I'm trying everything under the sun, without any luck...
  9. My son is 3 and had dentla surgery week before last for his nonexistant enamel. 7 crowns, 3 fillings, and sealants on the 2 teeth that were left. He had classic sypmtoms since birth and had a dairy allergy that he outgrew. His bloodwork was inconclusive and he had 2 neg. biopsies. Symptoms persisted, so we tried the diet and it was a miraculous turn around...
  10. My daughter started losing weight because of a curel hand lotion I had started using. She went from gaining great to losing. On here I learned that lotions, etc. could be the culprit. I took a Sat. and cleaned the house out of all things gluten and she's been gaining great ever since!
  11. Bless your heart. I've been in a somewhat similar situation with diagnosing. My son's symptoms were similar, but he went through 2 biopsies over 2 years, both being negative. He also had inconclusive bloodwork. He was diagnosed as having toddler's diarhea, but only got worse. We finally tried the diet and it worked like a miracle. My in-laws were really...
  12. My son gets horrible gas when glutened, but I haven't noticed anything else causing it.
  13. I like the Cause You're Special Hearty Biscuit Mix. It's really good and my son loves them. I even make them up and cut them out, then freeze them on the pan. After they're frozen, I put them in ziplock bags and can take 1 or 2 out to bake. It worked really good. Who says we can't have convenience?
  14. Psawyer, Just had to say that I LOVE your quote. My hubby and I are both engineers, as are 90% of our friends. We live in a NASA town, so there's a lot of us. I can sooooo relate to the quote. Thanks for the laugh! Sorry, off topic!
  15. My daughter is breastfed and i'm pumping exclusively due to her medical conditions and her feeding tube. I've started the TED, which means I only eat sweet potatoes, turkey, rice, squash and pears for a while, then add foods one at a time to see what she might be allergic to. My milk production is plummeting with the diet change, and I'm trying to find...
  16. I heard that Irish Oats are gluten free. My daughter vomited blood last time we tried oatmeal, so I'm not real keen on trying them. Anyone know anything about them or tried them?
  17. Have you tried th Cause You're Special brand?MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  18. I think I may try Dr. Sears' TED to see if it will help my daughter's gagging and retching spells. Any one with experience? She's 13 mos. and still only able to tolerate breast milk, though she's still retching horribly. Don't know if it's related to food, but it might be.
  19. Forrest's mom: Just wanted you to know that he can still have hushpuppies. I'm a throw it together kind of cook, but this is what I did and they were soooo good: gluten-free cornmeal and soy flour in about a 1:4 ratio 1 egg 1 small can corn 1 banana pepper, chopped finely about 1/2 c. onion, chopped finely water to make it the right sticky consistency...
  20. You said before that y'all were 98% gluten free. I hate to tell you, but 98% isn't gluten free. If my son gets teh tiniest bit of gluten, even through cross contamination, he gets very ill, refuses to eat, and D, and sleeps a lot. has she had any testing done by an allergist or a GI? It might be worth getting her tested for allergies rather than being...
  21. We love them and haven't had any problem
  22. shai76 - I know the procedure is safe. My son had 3 done when were looking for what was wrong with him before. It's the anesthesia that scares me. It could really put her heart into a tailspin. Do you mind me asking what your symtpoms were? She has this horrible choking and gagging all the time. Cheri - Thanks for checking. My husband thinks we should...
  23. I'm in, ubt can't read naything since I haven't done the family membership thing. Our budget is stretched this month, so I'm waitin on my husband to get out of a meeting to ask if he thinks we can add another $25 in this month.....
  24. Thanks so much - going to the board right now!!!! Also - we've tried Neocate and she can't tolerate that either!!!! She's baffling all the drs.! Thanks for the help.
  25. I'm so glad you and your sons were finally diagnosed. I'm sorry you had to endure so much. I just wanted to state that the reason I suggested the breastfeeding was that my daughter cannot tolerate any formulas at all. this is what has worked for us when nothing else will. She gets violently ill with anything but breastmilk while I'm gluten-free. ...
