  1. It means you may have another autoimmune disorder or it could be just an atypical immune response and you do have celiac disease. We do sometimes get posters on this forum who do have celiac disease who show negative tTG-IGA values. Are these values for yourself or someone else? This pattern is more often seen in young children whose immune systems are...
  2. Not a problem. We all do that. Making sense grammatically and syntactically is more important than spelling and you don't have a problem with that. Some on the forum have a hard time putting together coherent sentences. I guess we can just chalk it up to gluten-induced brain fog.
  3. Welcome to the forum, KitRivers! The Mayo Clinic pretest gluten challenge guidelines are as follows: For the serum antibody testing, consume an amount of gluten daily equivalent to two slices of wheat bread for 6-8 weeks. For the endoscopy/biopsy, the same amount of gluten for 2 weeks. IMO, being gluten free fro a couple of days prior...
  4. There are a number of theories seeking to explain the rise in gluten-related diseases, if indeed there has been an increase in the last several decades. It could be the case that the incidence is not any higher than it ever has been but rather, we have just gotten better at diagnosing it. But for all intents and purposes we believe it is on the increase which...
  5. Welcome to the forum, Moulinrouge82! Just be aware that if you ever want to have anymore testing done for celiac disease you would need to go back on gluten for 2 weeks (endoscopy/biopsy) or 6-8 weeks for an antibody test in order for the testing to be valid. Have you considered also that you may have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity)? It has many...
  6. Bilirubin is elevated. But what about AST and ALT? Your red counts are elevated but what about the shape and size of the red blood cells (MVP and something else I can't remember). Sometimes the marrow makes more red blood cells to compensate for them not having the right shape or size, i.e., they aren't healthy.
  7. As you say, the celiac antibody tests results are pending. If positive, the would explain a lot of what you are experiencing. There is also the possibility of NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which shares many of the same symptoms as celiac disease but does not damage the small bowel villi. There is no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled...
  8. Are you on any vitamin and mineral supplements? Have you investigated any possible vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can result from taking an SSRI? Many prescription meds interfere with metabolism of certain nutrients.
  9. Actually, I believe there are summer camps for celiac kids in some places.
  10. I note the burping you mention. Have you considered SIBO? Also, the anemia. Have you been checked for pernicious anemia which revolves around the inability to assimilate B12? What medications are you on?
  11. But the fact that you aren't feeling better signals something else is going on. You may have an additional food intolerance. Have you had a CBC and a CMP lately?
  12. Thanks. See that now. I wish they would put stuff like that at the top instead of in the fine print at the bottom.
  13. That's a good find. Thanks, Annie! I couldn't find a date on the article or the study, however.
  14. We "breed" animals. People marry and have children. I think some of the statistics showing differing celiac rates among different racial groups may have a diagnostic base to it rather than a genetic base. People of European decent generally live in places where they have better access to good healthcare resources. For instance, it seems to me we are...
  15. Not sure I would say that it "causes" other food sensitivities but it may be associated with other food sensitivities in the sense of any and all of them being related to immune system dysfunction. I know people who have NCGS but also cannot handle dairy. And keep in mind that not all dairy sensitivities are due to the lactose in milk. For some people, it...
  16. Welcome to the forum, iwant2believ! Have you considered the possibility of having NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity)? Many of the same symptoms as celiac disease but since it does produce antibodies or damage the villi. There is no test for NCGS so celiac diseae must first be ruled out. It is 10-12x more common than celiac disease. Some experts consider...
  17. Herbs and spices can be sources of gluten cross-contamination ("CC") and it's not impossible that wheat could be used as a texturing agent in some spice products. Getting "glutened" a few days before a test would not likely generate enough antibodies to be detectable I don't think.
  18. You can also order a home celiac test kit from Imaware and others for about $100 US.
  19. My guess would be you are still getting gluten from somewhere. Had to look up "pescetarian". That was a new one one for me. Do you have any concerns about heavy metal toxicity from eating fish as your main source of protein, besides dairy that is? By the way, dairy can cause villi blunting just like gluten for some people. But I don't think it would cause...
  20. I would be concerned that the whooshing sound in your ears might be something like a partial obstruction in a carotid artery from plaque and also connected with high blood pressure, though your blood pressure really isn't all that high. No problem with sharing your anxiety level. It's very understandable under the circumstances. This forum community...
  21. We were replying to the post made by Sunny1971 who says every test came back negative. We assume she was referring to celiac antibody tests.
  22. Welcome to the forum, Oliverg! We need more information about your testing? You mention a "high positive" blood test. Can you be more specific? Was that test done to check for celiac disease? There are several antibody tests from blood that can be used to detect celiac disease. Do you have access to the test results and if so, can you post them with...
  23. Ditto to what Wheatwacked said, Sunny1971, about NCGS. Many of the same symptoms as Celiac Disease but does not damage the villi. Antidote is also the same: no gluten. Some experts feel it may be a precursor to celiac disease.
  24. There is a timer on the edit function. If you wait very long the edit function is not available. If you don't need to quote someone or yourself in the next post, scroll down past "Quote and Reply" and there will be another text entry area just below that.
