  1. Maybe your computer has ED!
  2. Jillian, how close to "normal" cake does the Yellow cake taste? How about the coconut cake--have you ever made it?
  3. And envelopes--DON'T LICK THE ENVELOPES!!! (Great thread, T--I am SO impressed you are taking the time to do this when you have so much on your plate already!)
  4. I thought it interesting that one of the people who underwent the stomach surgery mentioned that she could eat cabbage, but still had a hard time digesting white bread. Hello, haven't ANY of these people ever heard of celiac????????!!!!!
  5. Cows in this country are routinely given recombinant boine growth hormone AND constant "prophylactic" antibiotics which passes into their milk, along with the pesticides in the feed that they consume. All that garbage is present in milk and all milk poducts, unless you spend a fortune and buy everything organic. Girls today are getting their periods at...
  6. Hi, I saw this on Comcast today: Open Original Shared Link Read carefully. Any comments????
  7. Hi, Manja! I noticed you wrote something about Hashimoto's,no soy, no walnuts? I understand the soy connection, but hadn't heard about walnuts and Hashimoto's (I have Hashimoto's, too). What's bad about walnuts?
  8. Hey, T--hope the script works! (We can pray for more milk, too--makes me feel like I'm part of some Earth-mother-rite!!!!) Next time you pump, you can imagine us all cheering, "You go, girl!" from the sidelines! We used to have a little room at work where the nursing moms went to pump--we put a sign on the door that said, "MOO."
  9. My kids love plain canned tomato sauce--tomatoes, garlic, onion, sweeet bell pepper, and salt and that's it! Nice and cheap, too. We even use it as pizza sauce!
  10. Welcome aboard! Going off gluten has had one--no, two-- tremendously positive effects for me (besides for the obvious health bnefits, I mean). One is that I have become a much better cook (and I wasn't bad at all before, judging by my husband's waistline!). I decided that it was EASIER to stay home and cook what I wanted from scratch rather than...
  11. Hey, Floridian--I just heard that potatoes are top of the list in produce that absorbs large amounts of pesticides. I think Consumer Reports came out with some kind of list. Apparently, I 'm poisoning my children by giving them non-organic strawberries every day. Could that be contributing to your spud troubles? Would organic potatoes solve the problem...
  12. Glad to hear of the improvement. Good night!
  13. I don't have a digital camera, either, so I guess I'm stuck....

  15. Yup, I'm having trouble! The picture I've got isn't on a jpeg file, it's just in a WORD file. How do I transfer it to an uploadable file? Thanks...
  16. Do you have an office bulletin board at work? How about posting some gluten-free recipes? They could make peanut butter cookies (with chocolate chips!) without having to buy anything special....
  17. This is so embarrassing--I don't knwo HOW to do an avatar.
  18. I hope things look better for you in the morning. Can you eat hummous? It's chickpeas mashed up with sesame paste, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil--very nutritious and high-fat. You can eat it on gluten-free bread or toast, or rice crackers, or just spoon it into your mouth. It makes a pretty good vegie dip, too. I wonder if making your own ketchup...
  19. Still praying for ya, T....
  20. One of my neightbors tried to do something nice for me, since I'm recovering from shoulder surgery. He is a pharmacist, knows I have celiac, went online, found a chicken-and-rice casserole recipe, made it, proudly brought it over--and I had to ask him if he used cream of mushroom soup in it. He did. He had no idea it had wheat starch, it never occured...
  21. After reading your post, I emailed World Harbor yesterday to ask tham about it. I have not received a reply... A-HA--they must be catching on. I tried to find the "gluten-free" mention on their website, and I can't find it any more....
  22. How did it go with the Neocate?
  23. I got my rash right when I switched to that Dove green-tea-and-cucumber soap. Loved the soap, but my skin didn't. Hope you don't have the same reaction!
  24. The new Dora breakfast cereal is corn and rice, and it's not nearly as sugary as most! I was thinking we should write them some kind of mass thank-you note!
  25. So glad to hear the swelling's down and the hubby is up! Careful with Excedrin--it's got caffeine. Maybe a coated aspirin would be easier on your tummy?
