things to cook in a slow cooker are almost endless, any meat with any veggie and a bit of water or broth a spice or two and you have a huge meal when you get home! My personal favorites are chicken stew, beef stew, chicken soup, veggie beef soup, gumbo and baked beans, I have also has BBQ ribs that were very tasty. -

when I first found out I would never have children I blamed my 1st husband..... after finding out about some of the symptoms it may not have been ALL his fault, the celiac may have been partly to blame, just they each caused their own damage and that leaves me with alot of nieces and nephews who think I am awesome. It also leaves my current husband childless...

OK, i know its a bad thing to generalize that ALL police officers eat doughnuts... but thx for making me laugh! Where I grew up we had a very few officers, and they all LOVED their doughnuts, got so big from them they had to stop buying cars and go to 4x4's! I got the shock of seeing one of them try to "chase" a suspect once, ohhh that didnt turn...

I wont be much help for most issues you are facing, however, the hives I might be able to help with.... When I was very young I would occationally get them for unknown reasons. The doctor would do the benedryl My grammie made a paste of water and baking soda to cover the hives, it seems to reduce the itching involved.

I gave up on the doctors, and since going 100% gluten-free I feel so much better I cant believe how sick I was, I don't need the paper with numbers on it to tell me that was my problem all along.

Being that I am self diagnosed (who needs another dang doctor anyways they're to opinionated) I did not know about the milk issue, but not knowing how to read labels when I started ended up failing at my goal however learning now I should have excluded milk was a bit late..... now my cousin on the other hand, still cannot do milk but then she was undiagnosed...

loco-ladi replied to MissWingBat's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Very few restraunts are willing to offer gluten free menu's, basically they are worried about cross contamination, its the employee issue with that mostly I think, as some know most think "its not like a little bread crumb will kill you" when in fact it may not kill you but you'll sure wish you were dead! Not a real big difference if you ask me....... ...
