For the last three or four years I ate scrambled eggs and broccoli or asparagus. It became routine and habit, but ocasionally I would long for a bowl of cereal and fruit or yogurt and a bagel, my breakfasts of yesteryear

I will check the website out Andrea. I take things back to the store all the time. Since I go so often, my mom too, we have made friends with a lot of the head personel and they say if we don't like something or it if it makes us sick to return it no problem. We both still end up throwing things out but not as much as we would. If I try something... -
ARCHIVED Hives Angioedema Liver And Celiac

Even though this is from the Hereditary Angioedema Association website, I found this table very informative about the different types of angioedema. Open Original Shared Link -
I don't know if this is the appropriate category to post this or not, sorry mods if it isn't. I am curious about how to go about getting genetic testing before getting pregnant? How is this done? Do they test for a myriad of things or one thing at a time ? Do they take blood, or is something more invasive involved? Any information would be greatly...

I just realized I didn't know what in the world I was talking about I couldn't remember the name of the flavor of Lara Bar that has chocolate and cinnamon in it, I thought it was "Mayan" Chocolate so I thought that is what you were referring to Carla. I was at the store today and gave it another look, the flavor is called Cocoa Mole, or something... -

Andrea, I got all of my mercury amalgam fillings out around 1994, that was one of the first things I did on this long and winding road to get better. I researched and read a lot of literature about it, I don't recall everything now since it has been some time but the absorption of mercury by our bodies from the fillings alone is unbelievably high. ... -

ARCHIVED Night Terrors/fear/paraoid
Green12 replied to tiffjake's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It is very unsettling, the bad dreams, you wake up in the middle of them and they feel so real. I feel for you too tiffjake, I wish your husband could be home with you during the night when this happens. -
ARCHIVED Book Review: Gluten Free Baking Classics

Thanks Andrea for your input, you are always so helpful Please post if you do get the chance to get something made, I am anxious to hear the results. You need two more arms and probably two more sets of eyes and two more days in the week to get everything done wrangling the kids and husband. -
Yuck is right Mango. No thanks for sharing Is the general consensus stay away from deli meat that is sliced in the slicer? Is the packaged stuff any better? I am concerned about additives and I got really excited when the turkey at my Wild Oats only had water and salt, NO carageenan.

ARCHIVED Book Review: Gluten Free Baking Classics

I just got the book, I am excited to try out some of the recipes. My question is, are there any other brands besides Authentic Foods that have a finer ground rice flour? Someone said in another thread they just use Bob's Red Mill and everything has turned out great but there has been such an issue with cc and BRM. -
ARCHIVED Night Terrors/fear/paraoid
Green12 replied to tiffjake's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I get the bad dreams, night terrors, and just an overall feeling of a black cloud hanging over my head when I eat anything I am allergic to, not necessarily just gluten. But it usually is after a few to a several days of eating the offending food/foods, not right away. -
ARCHIVED What Are Your Brands & Flavors Of Gluten Free Ice Cream ?
Green12 replied to Kelly J's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I always go with Haagen Dazs too, but some of the not so obvious ones have gluten like Tripple Chocolate (there is wheat flour in the truffles) so you need to always read labels. My favorite flavors are Mango, Mayan Chocolate, and Dulce De Leche -
Even if the slicer is cleaned is it a huge risk to get deli meat from the deli sliced in the slicer?

I'm not a bread maker, so I can't help much in this department. Maybe some of the other posters will have suggestions for you. I just got a new cookbook called Gluten Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts and she claims to have the solution for making gluten-free breads just like the real thing. She has several bread recipes included in the book.

hmmm, that's a mystery. You would think he would want to start you off with something like yogurt or a mild cheese, or milk even. But he must have some kind of method to his maddness. -

Sounds like you need to kick your doctor to the curb. I am with nini, if you feel like dairy makes you sick then you should not eat it. Period. And if he is telling you you need to do as he says and not question it, that is your first, big, red flag clue to look for another doctor asap. -

Liquid Smoke
Green12 replied to Green12's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You use it in cooking, to flavor meat with a smokey flavor like in BBQ fare. At least that is the main use I know of. Thanks so much Vydor -
Anybody use a brand of Liquid Smoke that is gluten-free? Thanks
