  1. My tastes in music are C R A Z Y across the board, at the moment I am really in to 'Greatest Hits' or 'best of' compilations of different artists/groups. I just got back from a short road trip and I listened to (don't laugh) The Bee Gees GHs, Neil Diamond GHs, Simon and Garfunkle GHs, James Taylor GHs, The Beetles GHs, The Eagles When Hell Freezes Over...
  2. I was green bean intolerant too on my IgG & IgA tests. Go figure!
  3. mac3, I don't know about the Wendy's, or anything eating out, but as far as packing a cooler I find that the easier to prepare items work best and are key. Also easy to grab/easy to eat- think finger foods, with not alot of fuss. Have fun on your road trip.... I love road trips!!

    ARCHIVED Tai Chi - Qigong

I just got a Tai Chi instructional tape to try out. Does anybody else practice this form of exercise?? Here is a brief description: T'ai chi, considered by many to be a gentle martial art, is a wonderful form of mental and physical stimulation, and great for your overall health. The term "T'ai chi" refers to a perfect balance between the yin and...
  5. I think I am the queen of C, I pretty much never get D so when I do I know something really is not right with my system. What works for me with the C is drinking hot water with lemon juice from about 1/2 a lemon. Also eating watermelon often does the trick.
  6. I ate before we all went out and I did it off to the side. I'm not an anti-social, I just find that I am more guarded about eating since I have been ill. And since this has been more than 10 years I am used to it being that way. Plus I don't like all of the questions I get, most of the time I find people think you have an eating disorder or that you are...
  7. I think we can start our own support group re this! Yes, I do get red bumps on my toes and my feet will itch really badly. of course they will swell up like nobody's business, so my poor feet will be huge, burning hot, itchy with red bumps on my toes. It's a real pretty sight!
  8. Ok thanks Rachel for this info. Basically as I understand it a Paleo diet is a diet based on that time period which would be a diet of the caveman so maybe they are one in the same. Thank goodness fresh herbs are ok, that gives meats so much more flavor. I think maybe I read something along the same lines about cooking things and making glutamates...
  9. I don't really have a specific recipe, more of an idea for a meal. With chicken I like to drizzle skinless breasts with a little olive oil and then sprinkle with a little garlic powder and sea salt (you could make a paste with fresh minced garlic and sea salt if you prefer and rub it on the chicken with the olive oil). Then I take fresh sprigs of rosemary...
  10. I could never boil my spagetti squashes because so far the ones available at the store have been HUGE, I wouldn't get it in a pot! I have a question, is spagetti squash considered more of a starchy vegetable like a potato or turnip and etc., or is it more like zuchinni and summer squash as far as carbohydrate content??
  11. I still have so many questions about an MSG free diet/lifestyle. I wonder about using fresh herbs to cook with? And I wonder if the Paleolithic diet would be the same as a caveman diet? What about beans/legumes, I think they are allowed in a paleolithic diet?? Maybe we could all share recipes so we don't get bored with our meals??
  12. Hi bigapplekathleen, There is a thread about the Specific Carbohydrate diet in the Diet and Weight Issues category that might have some helpful information for you.
  13. My trick is drinking hot water with the juice of about a half of a fresh lemon squeezed into it. Also eating fresh watermelon sometimes works.
  14. I know what you mean. I could have chosen not to go and stayed back at the hotel but I didn't want to miss out on anything!! I spent most of the time coloring with my niece and wiping up the mac and cheese all over the booth and table and her face, but for a second I just looked around the table and the restaurant in one of those slow motion 'this is...
  15. Armetta, I am glad that you are able to eat restaurant food even with so many food allergies. I however get violently ill when I eat anything out and so it is not a possibility for me.
  16. Thanks Rachel for your reply, it's nice not to be alone on this When you have a lot of food allergies it really is very isolating and we get to operating on automatic in order to just get through the day, or at least this is how I feel most of the time and after 10 or more years of this I am very used to sort of living in my own world where everything...
  17. It's not crazy! I am not just sensitive to gluten, I have many food intolerances/allergies and a common symptom I have is sores in the mouth and tongue. For me I find a big difference when I stay away from all processed foods, dairy, sugar, gluten, corn, etc. I don't seem to get the sores in my mouth when I am eating a fresh all whole foods diet free of...
  18. Ok cool, I thought maybe there was a Bronco connection. I live in Denver and John Elway was my childhood crush, had my walls pretty much plastered with his posters as well as with other Bronco stuff, like the Orange Crush and the 3 Amigos! I haven't been a Bronco fan for a while now though, the team really isn't the same, especially like you said without...
  19. I'm feeling a little sorry for myself I guess. I don't eat out because I have soooo many food intolerances other than gluten, but recently I was out of town and went with my family everytime they went out to eat and I found myself feeling really left out watching them eat hamburgers and pizza and milkshakes and all of that good stuff. It was almost...
  20. broncobux, Are you by chance a Denver Bronco fan? Just curious about your nickname
  21. Chelse, Maybe this is something, or maybe it's not, but I have been looking into corn allergies and more recently MSG sensitivities thanks to Rachel and from the information I read Lipton soup mixes are the worst thing you could eat with a MSG sensitivity- people react to it badly. The corn starch might be an issue related to this as well and I see from...
  22. The book, Battling the MSG Myth by Debby Anglesey- I think I am going to get it too. I agree that it is probably safer to do just meat veggies and fruit (the allowed ones) for the most sensitive of individuals. I was eating ALOT of rice and rice products myself, and eggs, and I think they were becoming a problem so I must be destined to eat my meat...
  23. I just got back from a road trip, although it wasn't as long as yours will be, and like the others said took all my own food in a cooler (the non-perishables in handle bags). I just kept repacking the cooler with fresh ice and it got the job done. I took all finger type foods, easy to prepare, for me and the family- cheese sticks, lots of fresh fruit like...
  24. Welcome Calicat, and Mango you are not butting in, we are all in this together and we have to figure out what we all can do to get well!! I just only today started looking on the net for info about MSG and here is the MSG trial test diet that might be helpful to anyone who is interested: Eat the following foods for at least 1 week and judge for yourself...
  25. Hi Calicat, I have the severe face swelling too with my allergic reactions. Every healthcare professional I ever went to never knew what it was from, like it is some big mystery. So basically since they don't know what it is or how to go about treatring it I have found they ignore it. My face will swell so much that I don't recognize myself in the mirror...
