Yes--there's a lot. A starter list: toothpaste (Use Crest or Colgate, but be wary of those whitening ones and don't use Sensodyne), lotions, soap?, shampoo, licking the envelope (source of controversy), playdoh, etc.

It's pure ignornace--he asked me about bagels, pasta, and pizza--what have I been telling him the past year?
Well, some insensitivity, too--I've told him many times that I can eat that stuff and it's dangerous, often equating it to a peanut allergy. A kid wiht a peanut allergy wouldn't even allow peanut-containing food in the classroom...I'm not trying to cut that out--just get some consideration.
It's been okay since then.

LOL, I'm finally going to go to a Wendy's today for the free frosty. Then if I like it go back in with sunglasses on and ask for another, lol, just kidding.
They may have been gluten-free in your case, but I still wouldn't want to eat their fries if there's no set policy...and the people behind the counter might not really know or care what you're asking about--I've found that in McDonalds they yes me all the time--is it made in a dedicated fryer or only with other gluten-free products? The glazed eyes, bored stare, and constant yes, yes, yes. I prefer McD's though where the company actually certifys that the fries are gluten-free--and if they screw it up, you can complain, cause it goes against company policy--you can't with Wendy's.

They're opening one soon called "Sambucca" on the upper west side....gluten-free menu consists of 22 pasta dishes, homemade bread, homemade brownies, kids menu, etc. It will be on the gluten-free restaurants program; the safest you're going to get in the way of dining out.

I know they do have a "gluten-free" list, consisting mostly of salad and such, but maybe the mints are on there? I don't remember where the list is, so I can't check for you. The best way to get an answer is to call the company, of course, as they might not be on their supposed gluten-free list.
Even if they aren't--there are more important food items
and Altoids...regular ones (not all altoid gums) are gluten-free.

I was diagnosed in February 2004...after having gastrointestinal symptoms for the past 8 years or so. Basically, I was paranoid about the diet and followed it perfectly, but saw little improvement. I had a second endoscopy (also had a first one to verify the diagnosis) to make sure that I wasn't accidentally ingesting gluten and it turned out that my villi had completely grown back...then I had more tests done and discovered that I had malrotation of the instestines, as well. It's relatively rare, occurs before birth, and is characterized by severe abdominal pain, often vomiting (look for green or dark yellow colors...sorry to be so graphic
) ...umm, also by inability or difficulty in gaining weight, basically the celiac symptoms. I think it's unlikely that you have it, also, but if any of this matches up, maybe read up on it. It's normally found in infancy, but they missed it in me and took 14 years to find it...thank God they did, too, and thank God nothing happened to me over those 14 years...or I could've lost an organ and been living on IVs...yikes!
I'm fine, though, and healthier than I ever have been. My symptoms also got progressively worse while I had them.

Also about symptoms, make sure no gluten's getting into your diet--the tiniest bit from toothpaste or lipstick could impediment your recovery.

When you first make a post, it will appear in the view new posts section, but will not appear at the top of the first page. This is because the new posts go towards the back of the section. . I think the problem is that the picture is too bright, which makes it look slightly faded. Open the photo in an editing software...probably the software that you uploaded it with almost definitely has the option...anyway, open it, then click "darken" or something of the sort--it should become more...clear.

Yes. You have to ask for a free frosty and the limit is one per customer. I don't think they're going to remember you, though, if you come back a little later. And if you think they might, you can just wear different clothing or a very large hat, lol

The antibodies don't do anything--are neither good, nor bad--but high levels of antibodies on a gluten-containing diet shows celiac disease.
It's the immune system cells (to be more specific, the T-cells) that attack the intestines. The gluten causes a chemical reaction, etc. and the t-cells attack the villi. When there's no gluten, the t-cells cease doing this.
