    ARCHIVED Challenges

Okay, so I have been on a challenge for about a year and nothing. No symptoms, no D, no cramps, no pain, no weight loss, no irritability, negative blood tests and biopsies, (the original were positive) etc etc etc. What gives? I was gluten free for around 3 years before this and was not getting better so dr recommended a challenge and to come in if there...
  2. Maybe the sugar in the cookies were too much. Once you start eating healthier your body will reject all sorts of things.
  3. Most of Shaklee's supplements are gluten free. The herb 5 isn't and there is one other one. The rest are okay. Including the protein shakes.
  4. c diff is extremely contagious so I hope you are protecting the ones around you. Listen to your doctor. Contrary to what you may be told on this site, they are still the ones who know. Of course they put you on the proper antibiotic. Take some probiotics along with any antibiotic. I don't recommend looking on the internet for answers. Not all the info...
  5. Try apple cider vinegar (with mother)up to 2 tbls a day with water and Shaklee's optiflora.
  6. your levels are dropping at an adequate rate.
  7. Sometimes it is just the aging process.....
  8. Are your anaphylactic reactions treated with Epi????? If you are having a true reaction you may one day be faced with intubation.
  9. How were you diagnosed with Celiac? Fructose intolerance, SIBO, fungal infection, Intestinal flora imbalance, H pylori infection, Sjogrens, gallbladder issues...just to mention a few. Celiacs know what to eat and what to look for. I hate the word glutened! Just because you are feeling crappy doesn't mean you are glutened. Everything you are eating...
  10. Can mold cause positive blood and biopsies? If so is it treatable? I didn't get ill till we moved into our 100 year old house! Ended up with a nasty fungal respiratory infection (treated with anti fungal). This fungus should never be found in the lungs. They had me pegged with COPD and Intersestial lung disease. All reversed with treatment. Very interesting...
  11. The most frustrating comment ever is "you must be getting glutened" I dispise that word because it implies you are failing. This is one of those diseases that blames the person if something goes wrong. There is alot of guilt associated with this diagnosis. If you are like all other celiacs you know what to eat and use as far as products and food goes. ...
  12. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  13. There is nothing you can do to get over it but ride it out. As someone who works in an ER, do not go to the ER and you do not need to call your Dr. There is nothing they can do to help. Depending on the person it can take days to a week for that glutened feeling to leave. Everyone gets glutened at some point and soon you will learn where you can eat...

  15. Since going gluten free in 2005, I'd say I feel maybe... 50% better. Lately I have been experiencing RUQ abd pain (dull and achy) that goes into the back. I also feel pelvic and rectal pain. I have has bouts of rectal bleeding and recently had a colonoscopy which only showed irritation and areas of friability, and the colon bruises very easily (?). Drs...
  16. I had this procedure done at the Mayo Clinic by Dr Joseph Murry. (He's been my gastro Dr since 2005.) The pill showed some areas that are inflammed and some that are healed. (zero flattened villi though) Unfortunately the last 2 hours of the pillcam malfunctioned and he wasn't able to see the last of the intestine. I am heading back to Mayo in May due...
  17. Your symptoms you mentioned sound like a possible sjogren's syndrome, especially the dry red eyes. I have this. I also have Vitamin D and C deficiencies. Get these tested along with the irons and thiamin levels. Sometimes just going gluten free does not do the trick especially if other auto-immune disorders are present.
  18. This could also be due to a Vitamin D and C deficiency. That is my problem. Have these levels tested.
  19. Depending on the extent of damage it can take awhile. How long have you had Celiac? Do you have any other neurological symptoms with it? I can tell you that if you even remotely gluten yourself the brain fog will not go away. It takes me about 2-3 weeks for the feeling to go away if I get glutened.
  20. I totally agree with you! And who better to start the revolution than those of us dealing with it today. It's time to start holding responsible the ones "in charge" of food supply!
  21. Okay, maybe the class action lawsuit was the wrong way to put it, but I think you all get what I was trying to say. Maybe we can't hold the "food industry" responsible but I believe the food all of us eat needs to change. There is so much knowledge on this board. I don't think any of us can argue the fact that we know alot about our disease. We are forced...
  22. So they don't have to list it in the allergen warnings? Is it because it is listed in the ingredients? I'm so sick of these food companies messing up food. Additives, fillers, flavorings, etc........I'm tired of the fakeness of it all.
  23. For tarnalberry..If there's nothing to fight why do you have over 6000 posts? I think we have to fight everyday for safe food and truth in labeling. Bully4U..... You saw what I was trying to say. There should be more people fighting for safe food. Blueeyemanda.... I blame the companies because they know what the problem is and still find loop holes...
