We've always used huggies and haven't had a problem so I can't help. I hated pampers too. Too perfumey. -

I don't feel I need to answer......I want to. I know how you feel. My parents are divorced but neither of them really understands either. Now with all our additional intolerances (which we don't know if they are long term), I'm sure it will be more challenging, for my mother anyway. My mother is very opinionated and controlling. Did you wonder... -
ARCHIVED So Confused....
AndreaB replied to shan1523's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Even with going back on gluten for 3 months, it may not be long enough. Many teens and adults have suffered other intolerances and autoimmune diseases with challenges and/or not adhereing to the diet. If you can, try enterolab. You can do the whole gluten panel or maybe just the gene test. If you know the genes you'll know more of what you're looking... -

Laura, Thank you so much for the update. That IV situation would have been hard for any parent to deal with. It's always hard when our kids scared and/or hurting. I will be watching for your update on Tuesday. -

Yes, I think it's harder because you actually have something to work towards now. I think I'd want to be at the doc's frequently too. That's really nice. We didn't get nearly as many as they do now. And, yes, they had thimerosal. My mom also had lots of fillings..... Something with the keyboard/workstation set up. Monitor... -

Rinne, Enjoy your crosswords. It is good to keep the brain engaged. Hope you are recovering from last week and the party. What your mom went through. Ok, I have lots of amalgams. I'm thinking Seth would have got lots more than the other two since I had work done while I was pregnant. Of course we also know it's going through... -

Thanks Azmom. My dad lives in Tucson. My mom reminded me that he's entering into the good weather now that monsoon season is over. Good news about them taking doctors seriously anyway. Maybe you'll get one of those new friendly keyboards. Thanks Julie. I also wonder why we are intolerant to so much. Can't blame mercury on the... -

At this point they don't think I need to come down. I'm hoping the meds will level out at some point and he'll be more coherant. How have you been? Has it gotten cold where you are at? Where are you north of.....Minnesota? Talitha's tummy is bothering here a little tonight too so I will be making freezer fruit spread/jam this weekend. ... -
ARCHIVED Is It Celiac?
AndreaB replied to curious's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Curious and welcome to the board! I don't have many answers as I got tested by Enterolab. I do know that you don't have to be losing weight to have celiac. That's an old belief. If you have stomach distress after eating stuff with gluten in it then it would seem you are gluten intolerant at least. That pretty much means the same thing... -
ARCHIVED Pumpkin Pie "cupcakes"
AndreaB replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have a vegan recipe for pumpkin pie that's not too bad. Not the same as the real thing. It does set up kinda thick so it may work for this. Rachel, I hear you. It's always hard to wait for something, but when it's better health, it's even harder. Try and stay positive. I don't know how this stuff works either, but sounds interesting and I am looking forward to your updates. HUGS for you. -

You must not like snowy weather very well either. I actually love snow, just not on the roads. His schedule sounds not to my liking either. I know, you're probably used to it. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I've heard of those light bulbs. I will be looking into getting them for next winter. I don't think I've really been bothered by winter blues. Now if we saw miles of snow instead of miles of rain that might be different. I would definately be blue worrying about Mitch on slip slide roads. -

Laura, He has kidney failure. He had one removed about 5 years ago because of prostate cancer that had spread. He is on dialysis 3 days a week and now this new med. Maybe it's the med because he wasn't that concerned about dialysis to begin with. I'm wondering what happened that he had to be put on it, and no, I don't know what it is. He was hospitalized... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Just got a call from my dad after trying to reach him for a week. The new med he is on makes him sleepy/loopy. He has a hard time focusing. He said something to the effect that he'll be on the med and dialysis for as long as he's alive, which won't be long. Before he was talking about years.....such a big change from last month. -

Thanks Alison, I will have to try that. I bought some at the store which has citric acid in it. Still have to check on that but it seems like that has been ok. We'll find out sometime today or tomorrow as Talitha couldn't wait for me to check on it. Patti, Don't I wish I lived near you......those sound good. Carla, Keep us posted please... -
