  1. I copied just a blip from an article on the main site. With a double celiac gene it is good that you caught this early. You have just gone over on the ttg for autoimmune response. Malabsorption isn't a problem. Casein is low, but over the limit they have set, which basically means that people have responded to going casein free at these numbers. Your...
  2. Yea, but we don't know which are more permanent or troublesome intolerances yet. Is your lyme appointment the 13th now?
  3. I haven't been through what you guys (or should I say gals ) have either, but I still like to try and be there for everyone. Rachel has been sweet enough to educate me on some things too.....which is nice. Still learning and bookmarking pages for further reference.....as long as my computer doesn't die.
  4. Tanya, That's great that Megan is tasting things now! Thanks for the update.
  5. I hope you will be successful in showing them through your better health, they way to go. Celiac untreated and lyme, untreated or treated are nothing to mess around with. I will pray for the Lord to give you discernment in what to say. That poor girl. My heart breaks for her. I will also pray that their eyes will be opened to the proper treatment...
  6. Rachel, All of your thoughts make sense. Could be combinations of them for different people also.
  7. Thanks Liz! These sound good.
  8. I too was wondering how you were doing? More prayers coming your way for strength and health.
  9. So quiet in here this morning. I'm used to taking quite a bit of time to catch up. Carla, Maybe you can tolerate smaller doses of dairy. Miamia, Hi! Hope you are doing better this week. Hi Ryan!
  10. I agree, we are trained to fall on the rocks, get the job done, no matter your health. We all need to learn to fall on pillows when it is needed. We leave on the 23rd, which is Thanksgiving, and come back the 27th. We actually get in about 2 am on the 28th. Don't know what I'll do without this thread for 4-5 days. I'll be behind big time unless...
  11. Susan, You must keep us posted on this guy.......sounds interesting. Rachel, Thanks for the correction. I think both you and Rinne are on to something with the lifestyle/diet changes. Rinne, Glad you were able to talk to the doctor and get some things cleared up. Carla, That's interesting about your...
  12. I'll be waiting for your results from Igenix also Carla. It sounds like it would be positive with what you've mentioned of your childhood/younger years. That's great that you have some more energy!
  13. I picked that I have other intolerances, but not to oats. This is via ELISA IgG testing but I either reacted to oats or the barley enzyme in rice dream while I was gluten lite.....before enterolab.
  14. Rachel, I'm at a loss too. I would think you'd get better. Maybe those people and doctors aren't taking agressive measures. If they aren't willing to, or don't, look at some of the alternative treatments then maybe there isn't as much hope of recovery. Sounds like the antibiotics drive the disease further into the body. Isn't that what I read.....
  15. Can't wait to read your post when you get a chance Laura.
  16. Hi, and Welcome! You go to Control Panel, Options, Email settings. Read through the choices and pick what you want.
  17. Nikki, Maybe also, the beginnings of using the furnace or central heating more. Of course, I've been in a/c'd air for the summer, you would think that would be dry too. I love your new pic btw. Susan, Glad you got out and had a good time. Rinne, I could see you in a lyme green beetle. I know they have a pretty green...
  18. Yes, the hi was for you. Just jump in. Do you have a question you'd like to ask? Yes, we will.
  19. I used to sing in the school choirs and also in an ensemble my senior year of school. Can't sing much anymore. My voice is way out of practice.
  20. Yep. We'll miss the dinner but that's ok. We'll see him Friday-Monday. Mitch will probably be quite tired going to work on Tuesday morning. We get into the airport at 2 am. Seth's schedule will be totally out of wack, but it'll be worth it to see my dad. We should all be over our colds by then too. Ok....I'll let you call me.
  21. Hmmmm, I wonder about that. Although I was using sls free stuff (I think) last year. Seems my flareup is always in the fall. I'm here. Rachel gets a call tomorrow, I'll mother then. I have been busy booking flight/hotel/car for going down to see dad Thanksgiving weekend. We will all be going down....leaving the evening of the 23rd and...
  22. I agree with the other posters. She needs to be totally gluten free for life to prevent the damage that will be incurred internally. It is difficult at first, but as you learn, it will get much easier. There are numerous gluten free things that can be made to replace her favorites. If she is raised knowing the damage that could incur with cheating,...
  23. I have found dairy hard to give up, compared to gluten also. It's a mind set and there will probably be times when you are sorely tempted to cheat. Take a little bit of time to adjust if you need it and continue reading and learning as much as you can. Welcome to the forum.
  24. Chelsea, I'm sorry. I also know of someone who is managing crohns without the meds. I think she was on them to begin with. I can give you her website if you are interested.
  25. Happy Birthday!!!
