ARCHIVED Loose Bowels
AndreaB replied to snklivie's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't have any specific answers either. Does she drink a lot of juice or eat a lot of fruit? Does she have other intolerances that could be causing problems. My family tends towards diarrhea if they eat something they are intolerant too. My son always has soft, soft bowel movements since he loves fruit. -

One of the things on the list I got from my doctor for natural stool softeners was flax oil. -
ARCHIVED Toddler Sleeping Issues
AndreaB replied to AmyTopolski's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't really have any answers. Does she sleep through the night at all anymore? On nights she doesn't does she always have contact with gluten? Is your house gluten free? My daughter has problems sleeping through the night sometimes. Hers is generally some fear. She's almost 7. My husband sleeps in the living room next to her room to make her feel... -
ARCHIVED Digesting Meat After Being Vegetarian
AndreaB replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Why would anyone think bad of you? You need to do what is necessary to maintain your health. I've had people question why God did this to us, our church promotes the vegetarian lifestyle. I don't see it the same way they do. Take baby steps as needed, as you feel comfortable. Please don't let others put you down. -

Can't eat rice, Rachel and Rinne have both been diagnosed with Lyme recently. I know they tested through Igenix labs, it's a matter of finding doctors that test through them. I don't know anything about lyme except what has been shared here so I'll opt out of definitive answers. Multiple food sensitivities is one of the things lyme presents as. ... -

I think iodine was mentioned sometime in the first 100 pages. You don't have to read all of it, just jump in and ask a question. The girls in the know are on at various times through the day so you may not get an answer right away. I don't know about iodine so I won't be answering.....but I always say "HI". -
ARCHIVED Digesting Meat After Being Vegetarian
AndreaB replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I was on either a vegan or vegetarian diet for about 9 years. Just went back to eating meat as I'm intolerant to the veggie protein. I only buy the free range stuff, 100% grass fed. I order from Open Original Shared Link. For fish I order from Vital Choices. There is a link to them from uswellness. We find their fish far superior to any we've had before... -

Laura, Good luck today......will be waiting for an update. Julie, I wouldn't get IgE testing alone. My doctor tested for IgE/IgG. I'm only allergic to dairy, intolerant to everything else. I emailed enterolab about their tests and determining lifelong intolerances. They test the IgA and....well let me post her response. If you have... -

Dinosaurs aren't annoyed by newbies. I'm not a dinosaur but have read a lot on here and jump into many threads. Sometimes it's just for a hug because I haven't a clue, other times I can rely what I have learned on this site. Please don't keep you mouth shut. What you have to say is just as important as anyone else. As far as questions asked before... -
ARCHIVED New Here...all Children Have Celiac
AndreaB replied to jayshunee's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That's interesting. I think vaccinations triggered it in my infant son. He broke out with eczema. He hasn't been tested but led the rest of us to get tested. He does react to oatmeal though so I won't be putting him through the gluten. I will be getting gene testing for him through enterolab. My kids are 6 (7 in dec), 4 and 11 months. Also congrats... -

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I don't know it's official name. It has awful thorns. Two with every leave I think. If you trim them, they grow back. I hate it for the kids. We've popped on ball. Once Seth is outside next year I will be hacking off the bottom branches and anything hanging down. They are heinous trees. -

Susan, You silly! We would love to dig up a thorn tree (they are all over our yard). Haven't the slightest why the landlord put these things in except they grow pretty fast. I HATE them. We asked if we could dig up one and put in something else. Don't really want to spend the money and the thorn tree next to it would probably overshadow and kill it... -

Susan, I love live trees. We always would go cut them down. I don't like how dry they get and have always been afraid of fires. My daughter is too. No, never been in one. Parents had live chopped down trees all through my growing up years. Mom just got an artificial one a few years back. Didn't want pitch and stuff all over her nice new carpet. -

Artificial christmas trees. Send me your email in a pm and I'll send the pictures over. It's a really neat site. The pre lit ones (don't know about the non pre lit) have lead in/on the wire/coating (not sure which). I'm not to sure about the safety of that. They just say to wash your hands after handling it. This one has pine cones and snow on it along... -

Hey gals and guys. I don't know how often Tavi post on the forum any more but she posted over at Daily Strength about her mom being in the hospital. Prayers and good thoughts to be sent her way please. Susan, You didn't miss anything about the trees. I had told Rachel on here that she had mail. It was about trees. A beautiful tree, on sale... -

Welcome to the forum Aaron! I second, third, fourth etc.....everyone else. You need to go gluten free to prevent further damage and autoimmune diseases that can follow. You will want to train yourself to view gluten and anything it is in as poison. -

ARCHIVED New Here...all Children Have Celiac
AndreaB replied to jayshunee's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Welcome! May I ask how old your children are? I tested through enterolab after my then 2 1/2 month old broke out with eczema. After being gluten lite for a month and a half, I learned about enterolab. I found out that my, my daughter and my oldest son also have gluten sensitivity or early stages of celiac. My infant son, I'm assuming the same as... -

I just had a "DUH" moment. I decided to clean up a smidgen of my sig. I know that if I have too much millet, it doesn't like me. Well, I just saw it on my low intolerances. DUH. Haven't tried quinoa or amaranth. I still have some flour I forget to take back of those....I did test intolerant to gliadin and well as gluten. On another note,...
