  1. Most of the rice dream frozen ice creams are safe. Of course there may be cc issues. I've had them with no ill effects but not for awhile.
  2. Have you been tested for allergies, vitamin deficiencies etc? Congratulations on the upcoming little one next year!
  3. That one I'm not as sure of.....someone else will jump on. From my very limited understanding it is gluten that is not disclosed (ie....flavors(ings)). Some companies are really good at disclosing, others aren't. Of course, then you also have the possible cross contamination even with gluten free food since a lot of it isn't made on dedicated lines....
  4. That's neat! I know a couple who could not agree on names and always seemed to find one just before the baby was born. She was always early (5 weeks).
  5. Better than Cream Cheese is a tofutti product. Don't know whether it is gluten free or not. I actually had a recipe for pumpkin roll that used that along with (I think) tofu mates vanilla pudding mix, pecans, fructose. I just sold that cookbook and would have to see if it is posted online on the gals website or not.
  6. How tall is your ladder? Do you have a neighbor that has a ladder that you can borrow that is taller? Pressure washing is good. We had a friend down the street that loaned us theirs to wash our old house before we moved. Couldn't believe the difference.
  7. Rachel, I don't eat dairy anymore either. I suppose you can't have chocolate since it's higher in histamines, or is it the caffeine?
  8. I like enjoy life chocolate chips with coconut (I know you can't have that Patti) and slivered almonds. I used to make homemade peanut butter cups but since I can't have carob chips anymore and have quit with the peanut butter due to my soy intolerance I haven't tried anything else. Almond butter may be good though. Donna if I make it down to Sacramento...
  9. I'd probably still eat more than necessary but it would be much closer. I do only eat 2 meals a day so I make the most of it. When my hubby was home last week he had a better understanding of why I don't eat til so late at times. I don't know how I'd fit in three meals......I'd have to cut out my morning computer time....then I'd never catch up on here...
  10. I eat way more than that at a meal. I guess you could say I Rachel everything.
  11. Yes, it seems gluten and casein are the culprit for a lot of things. As far as more testing. If you are concerned about other allergies they can do a finger prick for ELISA tests for children (It's just the IgG though). I just had that done with my oldest 2. From everything I've read if you test positive on something remove all items for a time and...
  12. Make sure you add other fats.....coconut oil, avocado.... As far as calcium, rice milk is fortified so that's not a problem and you can also supplement. Rhino calcium is free of a lot of allergens. Below is the email reply I got from them.
  13. Boy, wat did your coworker say to her.......or was it the result of your reaction to it.
  14. I will have leftovers for my big meal late morning, unless there is enough left for the whole family. Other times I have rice with or without eggs and sometimes leftover meat, nuts, mushrooms. I'll also have some fruit. If I have a snack, it's something quick like fruit. I usually keep my fruit and veggies in separate meals but find that it doesn't always...
  15. Rachel, Donna, Susan and Tavi are in California. How close is Sacramento to everyone that's in California? I'd have to bring the little guy unless we waited 2 years. I'd make my way down either driving myself or taking the train if everyone was willing to meet up.
  16. I second that.
  17. Hi all! Vincent....I agree with Susan....you need more protein. I also find I'm ravenous if I don't have some protein early in the day. I usually eat two meals and find that when I had three and didn't have protein for the first one that I was hungrier than if I had only had two meals. Don't know about those headaches though. Good to know that...
  18. Hang in there Toni! There will still be lots left to eat. It's just that we are used to eating a certain way and need to retrain our brains to eating differently. I don't usually eat breakfast anymore since I haven't figured out what else to have. I've moved to two meals a day with a snack if I'm hungry. I don't recommend this for everyone. Some people...
  19. Welcome Jen! Please keep us posted on your defense when it comes round.
  20. Yes, I would like to know everyone's results also.
  21. The test that I took is the ELISA test. It's a blood draw. They measure for IgE and IgG in the blood. IgE is immediate reaction, IgG is delayed reaction. That is a quicker way. You could also eliminate all processed foods and go down to a meat, fruit and veggies diet for a few months and slowly add a new food in, say every week and see if you have...
  22. Welcome hfcny!! Glad that you have joined us. You will find a fun loving, caring community. Ask any questions you have and someone is bound to have an answer.....at the very least hugs.
  23. Hi Melissa and Welcome!!!! You have come to the right place to learn and meet with others. Great bunch of people. As far as your children's allergies, they are very workable. Did you know that soy and peanuts are from the same family? I took my family off peanuts as my husband and I are soy intolerant, my two oldest children were just below...
  24. Does her post mean she's back or just dropped by. I hope she's back.
