  1. I would recommend the whole gluten panel they offer which includes the gene test, malabsorption, ttg and the IgA antibodies. I think they are offering dairy with that too (they were in May). Enterolab also tests for the gluten sensitivity gene which could also be a factor. If you are going to want your son to go through a biopsy then you won't want...
  2. I'm not sure about whether it can damage the villi or not but it is pretty sticky and so is gluten. As far as testing.....you can get rid of all dairy for 6 months minimum and then reintroduce small amounts. You could also go through the expense of an allergy test and/or enterolab's dairy intolerance test. I am mildly allergic to dairy but not intolerant...
  3. You could be allergic and intolerant. I had allergy tests done and found out I was allergic to wheat/gluten/gliadin/soy and dairy among others. I then went through enterolab for everything they offer and found that I was intolerant to gluten and soy but not dairy. An intolerance to something means you can't ever eat it again, whereas an allergy...
  4. If you can't find it, it was probably deleted.
  5. I actually prefer kale raw or barely cooked myself. I think it tastes better that way. Collared greens and kale are different. For collard greens you need to cut out the center tough stem. Cut up into desired pieces and into a pan that you've already put 2 tbs oil and 2 cloves of garlic into. Lay collard greens on top, add salt. Do not shake off...
  6. Mayflowers, I'm sorry. Do you eat meat at all? How about beans? Ener-g has an egg replacer that you can sub for eggs that are used in baking. Something I tried recently for french toast was orange juice. I thought it tasted pretty good. I usually blend up nut milk.....1/2 cup nuts to 4 cups water (blend in about 1-2 cups water...
  7. I echo most of the others that have responded. Is it you or the baby that want to wean, or someone else? I nursed both of my older children until they were 2 yrs 10 months. I had originaly wanted to go 3 years, but cut it short by 2 months with my daughter as I was tandem nursing her with the baby. Once I weaned her at that age I weaned my oldest son...
  8. Great, I forget what I use, Always or Stayfree. Haven't had a cycle since I found out about gluten intolerance. Had started having more irregular cycles prior to my last pregnancy (my baby in 9 months old). I thought it was the soy.....maybe soy and gluten. Will have to look into this now.

    ARCHIVED Help

It may not have been pinned yet. If it isn't pinned it goes to the back of the list under the main topic but shows up under the view new posts.
  10. If you still want to have the gene test done, enterolab does a gene test plus the whole gluten panel for $369. It incluedes ttg and malabsorption and maybe still dairy. They probably offer the gene testing separate. Check out their website Open Original Shared Link.
  11. Debbie have a nice vacation. Nikki, Love your new picture.
  12. I don't know about that one. We haven't had any problems with it. Do you know why the fortified would be bad?
  13. Sure has been quiet in here this afternoon/evening. School has been going well all things considering. My daughter enjoys it when she's not being too hard on herself. Today was one of those days. She expects to do things perfectly the first time. I told her if we did everything perfect the first time that there would be no point in going to school...
  14. I was born 8 weeks early. No health problems that I know of. Had problems with eyes and ears. My children were born on time. #1 was breech so a c-section 4-6 days early 7 lbs 15 oz., and the other two were sections also, #2 8 days early 8 lbs 10 oz. and #3 4 days early 8 lbs 6 oz. They all were healthy but my daughter was the sickest of them (although...
  15. I like it moderate.....in between you two (Rachel and Susan W), the 70's are good for me, at least in Washington.
  16. We went through a corn maze once. Lots of fun. That was when Talitha was only 18 months. She walked alot of the way and had a blast.....boy did she sleep well after that excursion.
  17. Enterolab doesn't bill insurance companies....that is the clients responsibility. Since most of the cost is not covered due to deductibles and such, people need to pay out of pocket which could deter some. Although the cost on endoscopies I imagine is much greater. I don't know the fees and what portion is covered by insurance so the cost may be a mute...
  18. I'm a former vegan (was one for 3 years). I am intolerant to soy and gluten and allergic to a few beans. I have read about the bad fats in meat also, but have recently read that the 100% grass fed beed is very good for you (since the omega rations are correct) and that the free range fowl are better for you as well. It's the factory farmed meat that is...
  19. If you can swing the money I'd recommend getting the children tested by enterolab. I had it done for my family and found that 3 out of 4 of us (infant too young) were intolerant to gluten. I also had the other tests done, but we ate a lot of soy and wanted to know about that. The thing I like about enterolab is the noninvasivness and that it is more accurate...
  20. As far as I understand, intolerances are for life. The antibodies should go down if you are not consuming the food in question and not getting trace amounts from cc or other such thing. I just got tested a few months back so I haven't been retested.
  21. I'm sorry, but happy that she will be spared years of ill health by being diagnosed early. I had my family tested through enterolab so I don't have an official diagnosis, but the 2 children I had tested and myself are intolerant. My oldest son has/had mild malabsorption also. They both didn't have any obvious symptoms and were growing normally. My youngest...
  22. I have prang hygieia dustless board chalk. I looked at their site and it just says it's 95% calcium carbonate....doesn't state the other 5 %. I haven't had a problem with it.
  23. That's great that you guys were treated so well. Don't think that would have happened here in the US from what others have posted (except for some places). It must have been nice to actually be able to get some rest amongst the fun, without having to worry so much about the food.
  24. What about the caffeine in both chocolate and coffee? How about trying a different chocolate bar like a plain chocolate bar and see if you still feel the same.
  25. Nikki, As you said it's no surprise about the results. Should be a half sigh of relief. The other half with trying to get him to understand not to take food from others will be challenging. Is there a way to teach him that those foods make his tummy hurt? If he's been complaining about aches and pains that may be a way to tackle it. Hi...
