ARCHIVED I Tested Negative Through Enterolab. Now What?
AndreaB replied to jabberwife's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Could it be possible that you are allergic and not intolerant. Have you had allergy tests done? I also second what Rachel said. With posts I've read the last two days, I've learned about the IgA deficiency. We learn something new everyday on this board. -

I decide to get off of the forum for a couple hours and I come back to this!.!.!. Back to the fun of Rachelville. Julie, that's classic, you pratice that wave now. I want horses in Rachelville. Haven't been able to afford any here. I would also need to relearn how to ride. I rode a couple times about 4 years ago, before that it had probably... -
ARCHIVED Another Enterolab Question...
AndreaB replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Allergy tests can test for pretty much anything. You'd have to make sure your doctor used a lab panel that included everything you wanted. What I found out about mine is that it tested for some legumes, grains etc but not all. I'm allergic to kidney, soy and navy beans according to the tests for instance but don't know about black beans, white beans, garbanzo... -
ARCHIVED New Here.......help, 9 Month Old
AndreaB replied to nursingmommie's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
As far as I know there is not a whole lot of difference between gluten intolerance and celiac. With gluten intolerance you generally have less damage but not always. Both are gluten free for life. -

AndreaB replied to nursingmommie's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
First off, the forbidden and safe foods lists on celiac.com is here. I don't know if you stay at home or work. The easiest thing to do is stick with basic things you make yourself. Meats, veggies, fruits, nuts. The more prepackaged foods you eat the more carreful you need to be. As you learn the ropes it would probably be best to keep food simple. As... -
ARCHIVED Whats Wrong W/ Me....seriously?
AndreaB replied to linz7997's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Patti and Michael, I have found a lot of complaints about the price of enterolab which is why I stated that. I am relieved to have them available and didn't even go through doctors so I wan't aware of what insurance covered or didn't. I have read on the slide presentation that enterolab has that was posted by someone else on some enterolab threads... -
ARCHIVED Another Enterolab Question...
AndreaB replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had allergy testing done before I went through enterolab. From what a friend told me, who is also a doctor, IgG is your long term reaction, and IgE is the immediate reaction. Of my allergies, the only thing I had and IgE reaction to was dairy (there were a couple others that were real minimal). Keep in mind that I had only had dairy on a very rare occasion... -

Another option if you want to go gluten free now is enterolab, but it is pricey. Click Open Original Shared Link for more info. -

AndreaB replied to linz7997's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You just need to ask for the celiac panel. It includes 5 tests from what I've read. -
ARCHIVED Whats Wrong W/ Me....seriously?
AndreaB replied to linz7997's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, definately cut out all gluten and throw out what is in your pantry that could tempt you to leave the diet. If you haven't checked the main page of celiac.com do so here for the page of safe and forbidden foods. Another thing that you will want to try to do is eliminate dairy also. Go totally off of it for two months then reintroduce it to see if you... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Cissie, Let us know the results after you get them. I didn't have any problems with DHL. I called in in the morning and they showed up within the hour. I didn't even have the boxes taped up since I didn't figure DHL to be here until the afternoon. -

ARCHIVED Update On Our Son
AndreaB replied to VydorScope's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That's great news Vincent. You and Kristi have obviously worked hard with him, it's great that it's paying off now. He must be so excited to be able to communicate more also. And with his energy level up I assume that means his diet has had a definite impact on that. -
ARCHIVED Waiting For Enterolab
AndreaB replied to oceangirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
They say they will have them back to you within three weeks...I think our was only two weeks (maybe only 1 1/2 weeks) since we got them back a week earlier than we thought we would. -

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Celia, I was only supposed to take one cc 2-3 times a week and then move to once a month after that. The bottle I have says 1000 mcg/ml and it is 30 ml...I don't know how much one cc works out to though. Will you get to eventually move to once a month with this? -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Celia, I had a b12 injection and brought more home to do but I had my regular doctor do a blood draw and see what my levels were. She said they were normal but I've read other posts that normal differs. I really need to call and see what the number was. My point is, the doctor I saw for my allergy testing and the b12 presription gave me the injection... -
ARCHIVED My Son Is Not Alone!
AndreaB replied to momothree's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Raegen, I underwent allergy testing because of my infant son's eczema. After finding out what I was allergic to included gluten/gliadin/soy and dairy I made some diet changes. I had not been on dairy except for maybe 3-6 times a year at potlucks where nothing else was available and I lived off soy and gluten. I dropped soy completely and went mostly... -

ARCHIVED Questions On Test Results
AndreaB replied to Collette's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would have been surprised if his numbers showed positive for celiac after being gluten free for 7 months. At this time unless you want to do a gluten challenge I would recommend Open Original Shared Link for a stool test. They also test for ttg, malabsorption and gene test on the gluten panel. Other tests can include dairy/soy/egg/yeast. If you decide... -
ARCHIVED I Am New
AndreaB replied to jodster33's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I've read other posts that indicated problems with oatmeal for children. My youngest (almost 8 months) is going to be starting oatmeal in probably another month so we'll find you how he does. Have you introduced all the fruits and veggies that you want to at this time? Has there been a problem with any other foods? I'm assuming the surgeries were 3 or... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
We haven't quite decided yet, but some of us like southern Oregon because the ocean isn't far away, it has mountains for skiing and sunshine and rain...basically all four seasons. It also has lakes and streams and no hurricanes and the likelyhood of tornadoes is very slim. Possible occassional earthquakes but nothing like California. A pilot, add that... -
ARCHIVED Torn About How To Test My Son, Lots Of Questions
AndreaB replied to Sarah8793's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Neither of my kids had any symptoms and my oldest son had mild malabsorption. I'm sure it would have caused symptoms eventually that were more noticeable. We are just glad we caught it so early before much damage was done. We were a little surprised but had been eating a lot of gluten being on the vegan diet, we've since gone back to a meat eating... -

Patti, I love your new picture! Haven't bought the kiss my face yet. Our grocery bugdet is extinct. We've decided we can't afford to buy everything organic. -

I just switched to Dove since it was listed on other sites. I would also prefer to avoid everything you are. What do the SLS's do anyway? I used to use Abba or Jason shampoos and conditioners. -
ARCHIVED Dianosis Help?
AndreaB replied to sore joints's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I also like enterolab if you want to check for intolerance to gluten. They also include a gene test, ttg and malabsorption in the whole gluten package. I think it still includes dairy at no charge. They also offer testing for soy/egg/yeast.
