  1. I did some research and found that Saw Palmetto oil extract is supposedly good for the scalp and hair loss so am trying that--started yesterday. About the weight thing, why is it so hard to put in on--I'm 5'2" and weight 99 lbs. Prior to my celiac diagnosis I was 110 lbs...
  2. LOL, a female
  3. Ooops, forgot to mention...B12's are good too.
  4. Does anyone have some advice for me? I have been gluten-free for 4 years. I've had my hormone levels checked and they're fine. My calcium, iron (I'm on iron supplements for anemia), thyroid have been checked and are also fine...so why is my hair failing out? I use gluten-free shampoo and do not seem to have any other food issues. Also, having a hard...
  5. Jennyj: Are you taking iron supplements? This would cause your stool to be black...L.A.
  6. A few friends had a hard time understanding the whole gluten thing as did my parents...i related it to an alcoholic. In recovery, an alcoholic can't have a drink here or there or they will be back to square one--told them celiacs is like that--gluten, whether a trace or large amount will put me back to square one. they seemed to underatand the comparison...
  7. This hot sensation, are you also sweating? L.A.
  8. I love gluten free corn flakes with strawberries and bananas for breakie--okay as long as you don't have a dairy problem.

    ARCHIVED Prednisone

My brother has Crohn's and when he was first diagnosed, he was put on prednisone. Would make sense it would help with Celiac symptons as it helped my brother--it made him really grumpy though
  10. Are you okay with Peanut Butter? PB and rice cakes are fairly easy to transport. Not much help but hopefully a bit Good Luck!
  11. Hey Erica: Wow! Too much at once eh? The relationship thing, the quit smoking thing, not feeling well and the panic attacks. The ativan should help short term (it did me) to keep you calm and hopefully the rest falls into place. Sending you a hug. L.A.
  12. Um, about this increase...it hasn't happened to me--who do I complain to?
  13. If you go to the Burt's Bee website and request a list of their gluten free products--I got mine in half hour--they have a great line of gluten-free products...including shampoo
  14. Taz: If you need this test to set your mind at ease, then do it. It sorta seems you're leaning that way, somake the decision and hopefully you'll feel better and more calm. Good luck.
  15. I've been doing research on gluten-free products and Burt's Bees responded to my email for a gluten-free list within an hour! They have a great variety of personal care items that are gluten-free. Web is www.burtsbees.com
  16. Big hug to you! I had a positive blood test result for celiac disease and a negative biopsy--I also refused to go back on gluten for the biopsy which ticked the Dr off royally but I did not want to go back to that hell for anyone. I hate how the medical profession tries to manipulate us. You do what you're comfortable dealing with.
  17. I know! We tried to make it as simple as possible--mark the stuff in the fridge and keep my dry goods in a cooler away from evrything else. I think they don't know how serious it can be. I got glutened at my parents once and spent 6 hours in their bathroom throwing up and dealing with 'D' and when it was all over, both my parents were crying and hugged...
  18. I just came back from a week at the family cottage and felt I was in a war zone--people just don't get it. All my food in the fridge was in special containers and marked and was still used!! My husband was furious, sat everyone done and told them to take care in the kitchen or stay out Maybe if they had to keep us company while we were sick they'd...

    ARCHIVED Tattoo Question

Hi Lorka: Thanks for the tip on the cream--will make sure mine is gluten-free. I'm having a saying done in Tengwar script. My Grampa always used to tell me "God bless, God speed lass". So I'm having that done--just can't figure out where to put it. L.A.
