It's the largest celiac organization in the U.S. They do have some good information and there are many local groups affiliated with them, but they also have some very bad information.     I make small quicky pizzas using corn tortillas. Crisp them a little first, then ingredients, then cook again. I also put a layer of olive oil on first. richard

    Captain Morgan's is gluten-free, according to Captain Morgan's. The coloring in dark rum, including Bacardi, is gluten-free. Somewhere back in the dark ages somebody started the rumor that you were better off sticking to light rum because that darn coloring might have gluten. It doesn't.     You'll also see wheat flour on the Butterball label because of the gravy packet. It's very easy to miss the fact that you've started reading the gravy ingredients.     I would agree that probably all mayo is gluten-free. In three years I've never found one that wasn't. richard

    In my experience, ham is always pretty much OK as long as it has not been commercially glazed and isn't honey baked. Your basic smoked ham is OK. I have yet to find a raw turkey that has gluten. If gluten is added to raw poultry, it must be clearly labeled as such. It cannot be hidden in "flavors" or anything similar. This makes buying a turkey very easy...

    The Whole Foods bakery is somewhere in the Carolinas. They started distribution in the Carolinas and some in Georgia and are now spreading out. I understand the one in Charlottesville, Va., now has the products. None west of the Mississippi I don't believe. richard

If the doctor tells you you can't have celiac because you're overweight, tell him that's been completely disproven. Or have a dermatologist do a biopsy on your sores to see if you have DH.     I've heard the flouring happens at some places but not at BK, McDoanld's or Wendy's. Also not at Hardee's but the fryer there isn't dedicated. richard

    You don't mention where you're going, which would make it easier to make suggestions. Amazingly enough, I've had goof luck at Waffle House. They make the food right there in front of you and the place where they make eggs and bacon is away from the waffles and pancakes.
