This is the same thing as the question about whether distilling makes vinegar started from wheat gluten-free. Every thing I've seen said it does. I don't worry any more about vinegar (except malt vinegar) or distilled spirits. richard -

I have to agree that a week isn't nearly enough time to determine anything. richard -
But if gluten isn't the culprit how come all of my symptoms, including the DH I had for more than 20 years, went away when I quit eating gluten? Not that it matters, but I have gotten the flu shot every year (except this year) since I last got the flu 18 years ago. 18 years ago I did not get the flu shot and boy was I sick. richard

I THINK most places will let you stay with your child at least until he or she is sedated, and probably the whole time. The procedure itself doesn't take more than 20 minutes, maybe not even that long. It takes different people different amounts of time to come out from under the sedation. richard -

If your daughter had symptoms that are improving there's really no use in doing celiac blood tests again this early. The fact that she's imrpoving means she's doing well, but if her blood levels were up in July, thery're unlikely to all be normal yet. And then you'll worry unnecessarily because they aren't normal. I don't see any obvious problems but of course I can't guarantee anything. Would the manufacturer not answer at all or did they say something like "We don't put gluten in it but we can't guarantee our suppliers." If it's the latter, take the medication. It's gluten-free. -

Because of the distilling process, bourbon (and all other liquors) is gluten-free as long as they don't add gluten after distilling (I don't know of any that do). I know Jack Daniels and Jim Beam have also said they are gluten-free. richard -

Kraft is not telling you there's an allergen panel; they're telling you to read the ingredient list. In the case of gluten, if there is any it will be clearly listed as wheat, rye, barley, or oats. The only one I know anything about is something like 5 tests for $80. You can use each test just once, they test only to about 200 ppm, and don't work well on some things. Some people do use them but I've just never the value. richard
