  1. This was my problem with programming - too many options. I kept asking for the right answer, and kept getting responses like "well, this way works...." or "if you started this way, then you should do this, but if you started this other way instead then...." Ummm, which way should I have started? "well it depends......" All the solid answer/understanding...
  2. How scary for you! What is he eating? Have you tried plain white rice and applesauce?
  3. Gads Em! No one can do 12th grade math! Just try to get him to survive until he hits calculus, then we're here for him.
  4. Well I sucked on my final (they stayed up all night grading and the scores are posted). Whatever. Time for something more fun anyway....like calculus...
  5. Welcome back to the world of the living.
  6. Be sure to find a warm grate to stand over, it'll be chilly tomorrow and no you can't have your old life back because your old life sucked. The transition is hard, I'll give you that, but once you're through to the other side, and you suddenly remember that this is how you used to feel 20 years ago, you'll gladly go naked just to celebrate your rebirth...
  7. I am finalized. And wiped out. My boss that I complain about came in to the lab, saw my study materials spread out on my desk, said " oh.... you're....." I said, my final's today." He said " I won't bother you then, let's meet tomorrow." and left. He really is a nice guy.
  8. I sound like your guys' kids (and I can't stand flylady ). From the perspective of the future, I would say that the only thing that works is finding what works for each individual. Some things you have to let go of, I'm still not very well situated in time and I have a job that doesn't require me to show up at any particular time (although I do make an...
  9. Only something that disintegrates protein (like maybe the clean cycle on a self cleaning oven) would make the gluten non-reactive. Since what gets cleaned out of a fryer is actually globs of over cooked stuff, not a slimy paste, I'm thinking it's still bad for you.
  10. Google Erin's full name and 'gluten' to find her page (she can't tell you that, but I can ). I just started (re-started?) weights. I had forgotten how much I love it, it's been years...

  12. Wheat and corn are cheap. They are used for filler in almost everything, it seems.
  13. C'mon over, I love to cook! Spend a little time thinking about whether or not you want your whole house to be gluten free. If everyone will eat that way anyway, it might not be worth the time and trouble to test the sibs. Or do you want a baseline diagnosis for every one?
  14. I have access to the Lancet article if you want the pdf

  16. I think this is different for different people. Some report that the tiniest bit of gluten will give them a full-blown response, and others say that their response varies depending on how much gluten they've consumed.
  17. I'm confused -- we don't erase posts unless the are spam -- Are you looking for this thread?
  18. Came home to no power last night. Discovered the true downside to making everything you eat -- my choices for dinner were, cold cioppino, or, nothing..... Drove to the next town to get glutino pretzels, having been inspired by a different thread and got to see the awesome site of driving over the bridge onto a completely dark island, kinda like what original...
  19. We all need that pity party now and again. Somehow taking a break from being strong lets you be strong again for the next challenge.
  20. For some symptoms I felt better immediately, other things took months. Every person is different. Keep careful track of how you feel, some changes may be subtle.
  21. So in the interests of protecting your health, I scarfed down a huge pile of glutino pretzels for dinner, with a side of sesame pretzels for variety. ok, the power was out and this is what I had. anyway. My first soy reaction is stomach pain. I may have had a tiny bit of that, or I may have just eaten too many pretzels. Either way, a non-full meal...
  22. That does sound awesome! Thanks!
  23. I can't do soy protein But I scarfed a huge bag of glutino pretzels over a few days and had no problems.
  24. You totally took the high road. Good for you!
