Now that's an idea! I'm Lutheran myself. I might get tired of baking every week though! Our church uses a type of pita bread [thick] cut into squares, and "wafers" are offered as well. So if I were to bake the pita, it would be contaminated by the wafers I guess??? and by the minister's hands....sigh. I'll just take my own up to the communion rail. Bummer...

ARCHIVED Ok...i Was All Ready To Buy A New Toaster ... ThenLymetoo posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications If I buy a double toaster [for hubby's wheat stuff].....will that work as long as the two sides are separate?? Is it considered "separate" if the two can be cleaned separately?? I found one that has two different plates at the bottom you can remove to clean. Is that good enough? or should I buy a completely separate toaster?? we live in an apartment...

Well, our pastor gives the bread from a plate. His hands would be contaminated, so I don't see any other way than to take my own bread/cracker to the front and "give" it to myself. He could give the blessing, but for me, it's just not the same thing. Sigh. I guess I'll get over it. I know God doesn't mind in the least!

ARCHIVED Trying To Figure Out My Sleep ProblemLymetoo replied to covsooze's topic in Related Issues & Disorders I used to wake up all the time and then I would have to pee. Well, I later began having trouble with frequency during the day and was finally dxd with IC, Interstitial Cystitis. What I'm saying is that it COULD be the bladder waking you up. RLS is another possibility, that's for sure. I hope your dr can help!!

ARCHIVED Villi QuestionLymetoo replied to ebrbetty's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Glad to hear the colonoscopy was OK. I just got my report back on the polyp they found....A-OK. But.....I thought they couldn't see villi with a colonoscopy????? I thought that was only by endoscopy?? If I'm wrong, then I feel pretty stupid, as I didn't tell my dr to check that closely.

ARCHIVED Strange Symptoms Even For Celiac?Lymetoo replied to ali786's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms sounds like it COULD be vitamin deficiencies....but with your family history, I would check out Lyme disease as well. Many with Lyme were misdiagnosed with ALS or RA, among other misdiagnoses like FMS, CFS, etc. Sounds like Gluten is a big factor, however. Make sure your diet is CLEAN.

ARCHIVED TupperwareLymetoo replied to jtangema's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I have a similar question. I often put sliced Kraft cheese on veggies for hubby. Does that contaminate the plastic dish?? Is Kraft sliced cheese safe? Haven't checked that one yet.

I'm not Catholic, but our church celebrates the Eucharist [communion] twice a month. What in the world do you guys do?? I could bring my own bread, but I'd probably have to "give it" to myself!! Not the same!!!! Is most wine OK? There's a problem here because congregants donate the wine. I guess I could check with the people preparing the communion each...

ARCHIVED Please Name Your Top 4 Or 5 Gluten Free Foods!Lymetoo posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I figured if you all gave me several of your favorite products, it would help me narrow down what to buy. It's expensive to pay $5 + for something that tastes like cardboard!! If it's fairly low in sugar, please indicate. I consider low as less than 5 grams per serving. I really have to watch the sugar. Thanks so much!!

I was dxd with FMS 26 yrs ago. Found out in Aug 2000 that it was caused by Lyme disease. If there's any chance you FM and CFS'rs could have Lyme, you need to get tested through Igenex Labs in CA. It's just like in celiac disease........The right lab makes all the difference in the world. I am MUCH better with MUCH less pain after many years of treatment...

ARCHIVED Worms Maybe?Lymetoo replied to Lister's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms "I can understand your fears under the circumstances but DO NOT take anything unless parasites are found by your DOCTOR." ============================== The tests miss way too many cases. Treating will not hurt anyone and will likely help. Just my opinion.
