ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
aprilh replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yep, I believe it was 41. I do think that if i do have lyme its not my primary stressor. I think possibly the metals and yeast are. So that basically leaves metals. The yeast won't go until the metals do. My problem is that I have trouble detoxing because of my liver. So he gave me a glutathione supplement and policansinol??? msp. Said it might help... -

Update on my LLMD appointment today to review my Igenex test. He doesn't think I am positive for lyme. Well, I am sort of confused. I am sort of positive because I had 1 band but sort of not positive because your supposed to have 2 bands at least. So, not sure... I thought maybe if I was positive it would give me a clue on where to go with my daughters... -

My llmd has this. He called it something else. It sounded sort of scary to me! How was it? -
Could be MSG. Be sure you tell them NO MSG. Msg can be hidden under many other names. MSG gives me wierd symptoms. But, I did used to get this way when I had a really bad candida infection. Anything with the slightest amount of sugar would set it off. A lot of Asian food has vinegars and sugars that could cause symptoms.

ARCHIVED Traveling On The Candida Diet . . . Advice?
aprilh replied to psipsina's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I think you could probably eat out okay as long as you ask for your meats to be prepared with olive oil and salt. And veggies steamed - no seasoning. A lot of times the seasoning they put on the food is questionable. I usuallly order stuff grilled and broiled and plain. Just tell them you have allergies and they should abide. The plane is a whole... -
ARCHIVED Eat Right For Your Blood Type?
aprilh replied to holdthegluten's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have used the diet as a guide. But all in all you have to avoid the foods that cause you problems. The thing about the blood type diet is that is probably what your body does good with in a perfect situation. Meaning that if we didn't have all these other factors involved such as leaky gut, candida, heavy metals, lyme disease - whatever the case may... -
Susie & Scotty, I always have trouble with weight in the Other direction I have heard either way that this can be due to the liver. Check out www.liverdoctor.com Also, the candida takes a lot of our nutrients away. So that doesn't help. Paula, I think it would be fine if you made a few days worth of tea. I have done that before...

Julie, I got mixed opinions in my research on the ozone machine. I think it probably does a really good job on killing the mold and I believe its used in remediation where the families are not around. But, apparently if you are not careful it can put off too much ozone which can be harmful. There are so many opinions on both so I got confused and... -
ARCHIVED Son Complains Of Leg Pain
aprilh replied to mama2two's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Last year my daughter had severe leg pains that at times she would not even walk on them. After 7 doctor visits, we figured out she was anemic. The iron supplementation helped. Then just recently in the last 2 weeks, they started again. Checked her blood and once again she is anemic. She has been gluten free and mostly dairy free for about 1 1/2... -

Thanks for that comment on the ozone - I am researching them now. They do seem to kill mold spores, but do they filter the air as well? Dead spores can be highly toxic as well. Gotta get back to researching! -

I am SO UPSET right now! I have been racking my brain trying to figure out my daughters bone pain problem and where to go, what to do next. I read that mold can cause the body to "throw" iron. So, I thought I would start checking around at her school & home - maybe get some mold plates. So, Today I am cleaning out my closet and it smelled kind of... -
You'll need to simmer it for about 5-10 minutes. That will extract the properties from the bark. Then strain and drink. That sounds good!

I believe it has to say "whole wheat" flour on the label. Even the wording "wheat flour" means its been processed. -
Do you mean it was in pill form or actually in plant form? I have never seen it in plant form

Jin, I got mine tested through Genova Diagnostics. Here is the website www.genovadiagnostics.com It was blood and saliva and urine. 3 phase test. I took a caffeine pill the first day, a acetominophin and an aspirin. Then they measured the urine and blood (and maybe saliva). April -
ARCHIVED Yet Another Person With A Yeast/candida Question
aprilh replied to Dru's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I didn't have time to read everyone's replies so forgive me if I overlap!!" Rice Guy, The BEST thing you can do is cut out aspartame. This is a neurotoxin and can contribute to your headaches. Aspartame properties turn to formaldahyde at about 80 degrees. Being that your body is warmer than that you may as well just inject the formaldahyde in your... -

I have heard this about the liver also. Don't kjnow much about babesia though. -
Oh, I just wanted to say, reactions to many different foods like that is a sign of leaky gut. Your first line of attack should be to heal leaky gut. L-Glutamine.

Scotty, Have you had your prostate checked? You could be having a swollen prostate which is partially blocking the urinary tract OR you could be having bladder spasms. Either one can be treated. Saw Palmetto is a good herb for the prostate along with lots of water and limit carbs such as sugars and grains. For bladder spasms you could take a good...

Thanks Kassandra. I just talked to the pediatrician and he is going to call in a prescription strength iron for me so maybe her pain will go away. He said its wierd that her ferritin is there but the body is not using it for some reason. He suggested that maybe we see a hematologist, but will they consider the lead and other metals and the "maybe" lyme... -

My ND helped me decipher the test results. We have a couple of theories. 1) lead is displacing iron. I am thinking that it could be possible that the pipes in school could have lead being the reason that she has problems mid-year. Want to order lead test from www.leadtesting.org for $28 and sneak and test the school water 2) recent growth spurt took... -

Hi Everyone! I got my daughters blood test results today. Her iron was very low, her saturation was very low, her white blood cell count was down, red blood cell count was a bit low. This could be due to her just getting over a virus so we'll recheck that in a few weeks. Also, her neutrophils (msp?) was low. Not sure what thats about. Poor thing... -

This is what I have found to be true for me. I have heard of soaking the scalp with monistat....my dad actually tried it. Nizoral shampoo works, too. Sometimes I rinse my hair and scalp with apple cider vinegar (organic). Lots of probiotics and antifungals work from the inside out. -
ARCHIVED Casein Question: What Are Good Alts For Milk & Cheese?
aprilh replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
We occasionally do goats cheese. My kids like the goat milk mozzerella. Goat is a bit easier to digest for some people, but others it can produce similar reactions. i try to just avoid dishes that require cheese. Almond milk is a great substitute in most recipes that call for milk. I want to order some conconut cream. I have heard you can make...
