  1. I can't get the retailor locator to upload either. Boo. I guess that means i have to actually go places and LOOk!
  2. I know I feel flushed and very thirsty after ingesting gluten, but I've never tried taking my temp
  3. Glutino makes a cracker that is the closest thing I can find to Ritz
  4. If you're looking for something that's less labor intensive I would buy either Kinnickinnick frozen pizza crusts or Amy's pre-made gluten-free frozen pizza. If you go with Amy's make sure to add some extra toppings. Courtney
  5. That sounds awesome with or without the pizza crust underneath!!
  6. Deb, make sure when you get bloodwork done they test the FREE T3 and FREE T4. The standard testing of T4 and TSH are completely useless and the ranges are probably outdated as well. I've been feeling hypo for the last seven years and have insisted on repeated bloodwork which all continued to come back "normal." If only I'd done my homework...well, 7 years...
  7. I've been hypo for about 13 years. And it seems to me that it's ALL related. I have just started seeing a new and very competent doctor that seems to believe that my adrenals crashed a long time ago which is what caused my thyroid to crash which eventually set off my food allergies. I've been gluten-free for about 5 months now - I was trying to find...

  9. What's Coney sauce?
  10. Thanks for all the ideas! I just bought some more pizza crusts so I have a few to experiment on. I'll let you know if I create anything outstanding. Courtney
  11. Thanks Turtle - I appreciate it! And I swear...one of these days we're BOTH going to a meeting!
  12. Is Kraft ranch gluten AND casein free? That'd be super.
  13. I am loving the garlic bread idea. Especially because I'm thinking about spaghetti for dinner tonite again... What would you put on a ranch pizza? My dad used to make an awesome one with carmelized onions and mushrooms and bleu cheese. {sob!} I miss bleu cheese.
  14. So cheese is out. Again. And for real this time. I did it for six weeks, I can do it for...six lifetimes... I suppose. Anyways, I still love my Kinnickinnick pizza crusts and they're easy to make at work. Plus there's still that emotional connection that I'm getting to eat something resembling a treat. So. Please, anyone and everyone. What are your ideas...

    ARCHIVED Why Water

That's an interesting observation. my water intake went all screwy for a while, too. i definately notice that i get extremely thirsty when i've been glutened...so i guess apply that theory, only opposite! courtney
  16. I went gluten-free 5 months ago, and found that I've definately become more sensitive to small amounts of gluten. Something like your body is finally getting a chance to heal and so it notices smaller amounts...It seems a lot of people have this same reaction. Courtney
  17. Growing up I remember my mom always used to add a small amount of bleach to a sink full of water. She'd let the produce soak for a while and then rinse and soak under cold running water for a good amount of time. Don't know how "safe" it is, but that's what I grew up on! Courtney
  18. I guess it just seems like if I were to have the stomach flu, it wouldn't seem that much different than how I've been feeling on a daily basis. And it has been going around with people I know, so it's entirely possible. On the other hand, I have been severely abusing casein and all its cheesy glory, so it's possibly my body has just given up. I'll just...
  19. So I did this whole elimination diet a month or two ago. Felt GREAT. Had a really difficult time reintroducing food and then kind of gave up and decided I'd just start over after the holidays. In the meantime, I fell off the casein-wagon into a world of deliciousness. And, of course, pain. Not suprisingly, I've been getting increasingly worse. My migraines...
  20. I have had the fries without a problem. Everything there is based on peanut oil and doing a quick look-see of the menu and kitchen (which is all open and plain view) I didn't see how the fryers could have CC issues. A friend of mine who is gluten-free had a burger there with no bun. She didn't get sick - they just wrapped her burger and all its toppings...
  21. Weird...I mean it definately felt VERY much like I was glutened, but I'm fine now. I've never had one pass so quickly. Plus the reaction was so delayed. So between those two things, I kind of ruled gluten out. Maybe I'll make something with ground beef in it for dinner tonite and see if anything happens. Mmmm...tacos with cheese and sour cream before...
  22. So I went out to my favorite Thai place on Thursday nite. I've been there at least five times with no gastrointenstinal incidents. I had the same thing I usually get except for they had filets. So I got a filet instead of the normal chicken. Usually when I get glutened it hits me by the end of the meal and it lasts about three days. I was fine after the...
  23. My parents live 15 hours away from me and I know it's been really tough on my mom to listen to me go through this and not be able to help. probably the best thing she's done is just to LISTEN. being newly diagnosed, I'm full of information that I've just learned and desperately want someone - who doesn't think I'm insane - to listen to. She's listened,...
  24. Hey y'all -- Great news!! A friend of mine is a mgr at Harper's in 5pts and has worked there for several years. She heard about my "issues" with food through a mutual friend and I was in there tonite to have a drink at the bar. She told me that Harpers had developed a gluten-free menu and that they even use separate pans for the items prepared gluten...
  25. Nah, then I'd really look crazy! I am constantly spilling beer all over my hands and forearms. So I just either need to pick a time to sit and eat dinner while I'm there, or becoming overbearingly consciencious (sp?!) about the last time I've washed my hands. At least that gives me a reason for why I've been feeling kinda bleh. Courtney
