Amy's Gluten Free Sonoma Veggie Burger

Reviewed and edited by a celiac disease expert.
Amy's Gluten Free Sonoma Veggie Burger -

Amy's recently came out with their "Sonoma" Veggie Burger, which is not only gluten free, but soy and dairy free as well. The Sonoma veggie burger is packed with organic whole ingredients so there was a level of comfort knowing exactly what I would be putting into my body.  I am not a vegetarian, but I am trying to eat more health consciously, so I thought I would give them a try.

Amy's Gluten Free Sonoma Veggie BurgerI wanted to toss them on the grill, but the weather was not cooperating, so I just popped them in the oven for about 5 minutes each side and "ta-da," they were done.  The Sonoma Veggie Burger was well-seasoned and had a nice nutty quality that is usually found in veggie/grain-based patties.  The outside of the patty was firm and slightly crisp, with a semi-soft interior.

I piled on the fixings and was about to dig in when the smell had lured my two non-celiac, meat-eating children into the kitchen (despite the fact that they had just eaten).  I gave them each a bite and both girls said it was good.  My youngest actually requested that I make Amy's veggie burgers next time it's burger night – no lie!

Thanks for this review. My boys are actually the gluten free ones but I ended up having to cut out dairy/soy/eggs and sorely missed having Amy's veggie burgers on occasion. I'll be looking for these!

After many years of unexplained medical issues, I was finally diagnosed with celiac disease in 2002.  The first couple of years were a rough road traveled, but I am feeling better than I ever have.  It is important that I share what I have learned over the years with others and to do my part to help raise awareness of celiac disease.

    Bold Organics Deluxe Gluten-Free Pizza
I tried Bold Organics' Deluxe Gluten-Free Pizza yesterday, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, roasted peppers, onions, Shiitake mushrooms, etc., and it tastes great. As with their other pizzas, they use soy cheese which makes this pizza also milk/lactose-free, as well as gluten-free, so many people will be happy about this. I really could not tell that the cheese on this pizza was non-dairy, as it melted perfectly and tasted fine.
Since many celiacs also have issue with casein, I am certain there will be a lot of happy customers for this pizza!

GoodOnYa Peanut Butter and Honey Organic Gluten-Free Snack Bar
There are countless 'health' food snack bars and protein bars on the market, many of which aren't as healthy as their makers would have you think. On the other side of the spectrum, you have snack bars that are loaded with various superfoods and are really quite nutritious, but taste like cardboard. The Peanut Butter Honey GoodOnYa bar is what I would call a perfect middle ground – it is rich and flavorful, but filled with highly nutritious organic ingredients. Even better, it's not only gluten-free, but completely soy-free, dairy-free and grain-free as well.
When I need a quick snack on the go, I usually go for fruit and a container of yogurt, which I feel is enough of an indulgence. After trying this peanut butter GoodOnYa bar though, I am seriously considering adding it to my morning r...

Libre Naturals Nonuttin Gluten-Free Chewy Granola Bars
Libre Naturals has made a gluten free granola bar that is hard to resist.  Why do I love these bars so much?  Let me count the ways.
For one, these gluten-free chewy granola bars are made in a dedicated gluten-free facility, and contain 55% organic cocoa mini chocolate chips and whole grain certified gluten-free oats.  They use evaporated cane sugar and brown rice syrup to add sweetness that is perfectly sublime, but not overpowering.
The bars are crunchy and satisfying. I found them to be a perfect snack anytime of the day.

LÄRABAR ÜBER Dark Chocolate Raspberry Gluten-Free Bar
It isn't often that I get really excited about a product that I try—but I am really excited about the LÄRABAR ÜBER Dark Chocolate Raspberry Gluten-Free Bar.
When it comes to bars, most of them tend to be on the overwhelming side, and contain way too much of everything—too much sugar, chocolate or other flavors tend to overpower everything else. LÄRABAR's ÜBER Dark Chocolate Raspberry bar, however, was amazingly well-balanced, and had the perfect amount of everything. It had lots of almonds and cashews that were very fresh and bound together with a sweet, salty mixture of honey and raspberry flavors—then topped off with large chunks of unsweetened dark chocolate. The combination of flavors was just amazing.
I am also fussy about the texture of any bars I try. This "crunchy ...
