Oh,  I will need to strap some parasols onto my chair as I am terrified of the sun.  And, no offense Irish, I would like California since the humidity is lower, just saying...

I do not do humidity. Like... ever. There is simply no excuse for water in the air. Utah is beautiful year round. Plus we have skiing. Lots of people say we have the best snow on earth, better than CO anyway, all they get is our leftovers. :lol: I don't do snow either, but I can keep the cocoa hot for the snow bunnies all winter long.

 

Plus we have Moab and Arches National Park. Tons of forests and canyons and that sort of thing too. And cities for us civilized folk. The kind with In N Out.

I must be "different". :ph34r: my "half-Mediterranean" roots and all?? Neither my Dad nor I felt this way in the humidity.

 

NOTE: We are coming NORTH in July and August to see the ponies at Saratoga and visit family & friends

in Mass, NH and Cape Cod.

BINGO! I think that some of us are just different. I couldn't stand the weather last time I visited PA and it was only in the 80s most days. It was all I could to to drag myself from bed to the shower to a chair to sweat in all day.

 

I hated the humidity growing up, and I hate it more now. To be fair though, my hair lost all its curl when I came to Utah. :( Straight as a board now, and totally tragic.

 

But hey, if it doesn't make you hate life I say enjoy it!

I want to thank everyone who responded to my post i really appreciate all your feedback. I don't know anyone else with celiacs. Alot of the time i feel like people think i am exaggerating about how i don't want any food with gluten around me. Trying to explain that a simple crumb can make me sick. When food gets brought into the house like pizza by my teenage boys makes me cringe. It's just nice to have people that understand and know more about the disease than i do. I can tell you all are going to be invaluable to me and i thank you.:)

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

      Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?

      Thankyou so much for your words.Its a hard battle when a supposed well known hospital whose celiac " specialist " has down played me because my colon looks fine and put it in my medical and so pcp doesn't take seriously. In their eyes we all carry that gene.Im having alot of bad days trying to be positive because of it.
