Distilled Alcohols (vodka, gin, scotch, etc) do not contain gluten.

However, some people are more sensitive to the fact they are wheat/grain based than other people. It depends on your sensitivity.

Strangely enough, 5 years ago, I could not drink wheat/grain based vodka.

However, I drink Ketel One every time I go out now and do not have any problems.

It sucks to say, but it is a trial and error thing for you...

I drink it and have had no problems. Happy birthday :)

Hey, i'm a new member, though i've had celiac disease all i'm life. I was just wondering if anyone knows if Smirnoff and Bacardi are ok?

Edit* nevermind I just did some looking on other forums and it looks like Bacardi is ok, and Smirnoff vodka is but not the twists.

Does anyone know if amaretto is gluten-free? It's not on the safe list, but I don't see what's in it that would make it contain gluten ... I don't get reactions so I have no way of doing trial and error or knowing if I ever get glutened.

Also, what's a good reference to find gluten-free alcohols ... my doctors are still at Children's Hospital and have no idea about liquors

I grew up drinking vodka (even before I turned 19 lol--thats the legal age here)..and I still have it now, and never get an affect from it..and I've tried a few different types too :P

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
