Overthinking The Autumn...

My husband and I were talking today about our typical Fall activities with the kids - apple picking with the hayride, pumpkin picking with the hayride, climbing the hay bale castle to go through the corn maze, etc. you get the drift.

This is going to be our first Fall dealing with celiac. Is hay a concern? No idea if it's wheat, but I'm in the Midwest so highly likely - we make our wheat cheap and plentiful!

We haven't ever had issues with any of the above.

Go. Enjoy!

Wash hands and strip them down when you get home and have a good bath!!!

We didn't have any problems with it either.  I just had him strip down when he got home and take a long, hot shower.  Don't forget to clean/trim fingernails either.

It's likely that the hay is alfalfa or other grass but you could call the farm and ask just to make sure.

Thanks so much.  It's so difficult to figure out when I need to worry and when I need to let things slide.

Yes, if you are convinced gluten is causing you problems then it would seem to come down to NCGS but you may also have other intolerances.

There are huge categories of gluten-free foods, are there any particular types of foods that you are trying to find?
    • Roses8721
Ended up demanding HLA and I’m negative for both. So assuming this is NCGs now? PCP seems unsure and GI is referring to genetics which I don’t get.  about to lose my mind

suggest me best gluten free food thank you

You are definitely not alone aftertastes and denser interiors are really common with gluten-free baking. Oat and tigernut flours are great choices, and tweaks like extra egg or adjusting hydration are exactly the kind of trial and error that usually leads to better texture over time.
