Airborne Gluten, How To Avoid It

Hi, here where i live it's mom's day so i just came to my grandma's house, they're gonna make asado (a kind of barbaque) they dont care of cross contamination, no problem with that, i brang my own food!! but when i entered the house, surprise surprise!! i saw my grandmother with a package of flour in her hands, she told me she would make empanadas.  im recovering from a glutening i had 3 days ago, i dont want to get worse!

will it be enough if i stay in another room until she is done with the cooking? and then go back to the kitchen, or should i wait some more minutes?

Do whatever is comfortable for you. I hang in the kitchen at my sister-in-laws when she is baking Christmas cookies, but her kitchen is large. I avoid the mixing part where there is a greater chance of flour being in the air. Rolling and cutting is pretty much contained to one area of her kitchen. I make sure that my food is not in the kitchen and that I wash my hands before eating.

I think I would keep my distance too and wash anything that was exposed very well before using it (like cups or utensils).

      Thank you very much for your response. Since I got this advice I called Pepsid manufacturer and they could not give a definite answer. Basically,  there is no final testing and they do not guarantee anything. So I went and got farmotidine from Wagmans that was marked gluten-free and also our pediatrician gave us a prescription for farmotidine that was also gluten-free. So there are other options there thankfully. In case someone will come across of this dilemma.
