Doused With Gluten At The Same Time Stomach Flu Hit

Our power was out so we went out to eat, and they friggin boiled the gluten-free pasta in the same water as all the other pasta (nice, huh? takes serious brains!), but then literally just after eating I began getting sick in the rage of a nasty stomach flu, aparently a strain coming from Sydney. Found myself in emergency twice I couldn't stop getting sick and became dehydrated.

Finally starting to feel more energy. Tummy upset, to say the least. Still afraid to eat, but will get there soon. Simple broth and apple slices to start with. GLUTEN FREE.

My questions surround how much more my body was taken down as a result of my immune system being compromised when I desperately needed it most. Hypothetically, as I don't expect a definitive answer per se.

My response to your question is, "Who knows?" I sincerely hope that you feel better soon! The flu and a glutening! Take care and drink plenty of water.

Unfortunately the bad things happened in a group for you this time.  Just be very vigilant and take care of yourself, and definitely avoid eating out/potential gluten exposure until long after you feel totally better, so you don't get hit again.  If you have the inability to keep food down, your doctor may be able to prescribe you nausea meds to keep you from getting dehydrated and back in the hospital.  Take care!

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?

Have you tried lip balm made from tallow?  It's been used for thousands of years and works better than those with waxes. I prefer Vintage Traditions brand tallow balm products.

Are you taking a B 6 supplement or a supplement containing B 6 like a B Complex?  Do you have pins and needles in your toes?   Don't worry about the thiamine being high.  The blood is a transport system that carries thiamine to the cells so they can store it.  It's fine.

Quick question, had some blood tests done again and once again my zinc was too low but now ofcourse my B1 was too high and so was my B6. The doc said to  immediately  stop all supplements that contain B6. Can using thiamine raise the levels of B6 too?
