 I know why I did it but I regret it anyway. :unsure:  I was reading all the postives about how after some healing time, one might be able to re introduce corn or dairy or soy etc...

 

So I got an Udi's hamburger roll...knowing full well it is full of corn solids... and.. UGH!!!  :( :( :( :( :( :(   My tummy hurts SO BADLY, and I threw it all up in a gelatinous mess of mucous.

 

Well, at least I now know.  I am just really sad about it. I got a bit excited in the back part of my head about the possibility. I guess you all do not really need to know and I am just writing this as some form of relief.

It takes time. But you didn't really do anything wrong (except maybe jump the gun.) I tried the things I used to be intolerant to several times before I met with success.

 

The good news is that your symptoms most likely won't last as long as a glutening would. I hope you're feeling better soon. :)

You may be able to try again one day; just give it a year or so first.

Ah , I am not so sure.  It has already been over a year now. Maybe I will give it another go NEXT year HAH~!  That was really painful and I am glad it is over. All I was able to eat yesterday after that pain was a bowl of mashed potatoes. Its so strange to know that food can hurt a person so much. I am starting to think that I AM one of those super sensitive people. A glutening puts me down for 4-5 days. Corn and soy...or what I like to refer to as food poisoning, only puts me down for a day. It just puts me down so hard! I end up squirming around in pain on the sofa pleading for death. LOL *sighs*

About eight months before I got corn back I was exposed to corn and literally thought I was going to die. My core body temp dropped, I was having a cross between muscle spasms and what felt like seizures. I wanted to call an ambulance but couldn't even make it to the phone. I was sure at that point that I would never be able to eat corn.

 

But now I can. As I said, it took three and a half years and in the meantime I ate whole foods. It was hard to accept but I chose to look at food as a necessary bodily function rather than as a pleasure. I had one treat that I could look forward to at the end of the day - an all natural ice cream sweetened with sugar instead of corn syrup. It got me through.

 

If you can find one thing that you really enjoy eating to reward yourself at the end of the day I'm sure it will help. And given enough time, you WILL get these other things back.

Ah, You guys really make me feel much more positive about it all. Thank you so much. I needed that. I generally eat whole foods. My family is so used to it that if I try and feed the boyfriend a pre-made store meal because Ive no time to cook and he devours 3000+ calories a day.... haha he makes a scrunched up face, sticks his tongue out and says "EWWW what IS this?". He is the only one that can eat that way in this house though. He tried to go grain free with us a few months ago but he lost so much weight it was scary so there is now a special cabinet of rice, bread, and pasta and their own pots and knives etc, just for him.

 

I do not really need a reward. Sometimes I swing back a Naked Juice for dessert but ..really, it is not a thing.  I was just thinking of how much easier and cheaper life would be. If I could keep down Udi's OH WOW, no more bread making, no more paying $8 for Against the Grain baguettes, it would have just been easier. Ah well.  Corn though?  Corn is in EVERYTHING. GAH! I am so glad I have no candy addictions! Whole foods is almost the ONLY way to avoid corn. Same for soy. just.. GAH!

I was undiagnosed for 30 years so my gut was a mess and it makes sense that healing will take a while. I was gluten-free for a few years then got off track and now have 6 months clear.

OP, do you have access to Canyon Bakehouse bread? I think that brand is corn free.

I do not know that I exactly qualify as young. I will be turning 39 here very soon. I am going to give it another go next year though. I have my daughter going for a panel soon. I am 99% sure she has it too and I do not ever want her to end up in these shoes someday!

Ohhh Never heard of them.  I will check for it the next time I go to whole foods. I am guessing it will cost roughly the same as the against the grain gourmet though. Who knows!  I will look it up on google too as I cant do sorghum either. The only grain I seem to be alright with is rice.

It depends on your area. When our grocery store had it, it was around $5 per loaf if I remember right.

 I just looked at their ingredients. lots of sorghum :( My body sucks!

Thiamax (TTFD) plus a B-complex, and if you want benfotiamine, the Life Extension formula covers that at ~100 mg.

      High fiber can definitely cause sudden GI distress especially if it’s a new addition but accidental gluten exposure can feel similar. Keeping a simple food/symptom log and introducing new gluten-free foods one at a time can really help you spot the pattern.       sorry a bit confused so I should take my B complex along with Objective Nutrients Thiamax for TTFD but what about a Benfotiamine to take. The Life extensions contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine together or im confusing myself. I am trying to see if I take Thiamax what should I take for Benfotiamine. Thanks EDITING after further research I see ones water soluble ones fat soluble. So I guess 100MG as you suggested of Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. and the Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     would work for me.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.
