Stickers On Fruits And Veggies

I've always been one of those people who will not lick an envelope -- something I read somewhere about the glue containing gluten. It occurred to me that there seems to be stickers on nearly every piece of fruit and many vegetables as well. They must have some sort of adhesive -- should I ( we) be worried about those as well?

Not at all!  Both the stickers on fruit/veggies and envelopes are safe....no gluteny glue in either!  Those are Celiac myths.  Besides, stickers should be removed and fruit/veggies washed before consuming and it has nothing to do with gluten. Too many people handle them in the process of bringing them to market so bacteria or whatever else should be more concerning than gluten.  :)

I got sick from envelope glue when doing christmas cards.

It's probably not from gluten.   Generally they don't put gluten on envelopes anymore.

Licking envelopes is gross but they don't contain gluten. Saw a show years ago that talked about how cockroaches & other bugs like to eat the glue.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
