Not exactly a bug, but it's really slow, especially to go "back" after reading a thread or post. I have to click the back button four to six times and even then it takes up to 30 seconds to finally get back to the main page.

The only other thing I noticed (I access the forum from "new content") is that sometimes when I click the little black (used to be green) button, instead of taking me to the first unread post it'll take me to the beginning of the thread or else to the reply box and I have to scroll up to read new posts.

I'll be working on the speed issues over the next few days and should have it sorted out soon.

got this  after i clicked on read new content ( or whatever its called)

Sorry, there is a problem

Please wait 15 seconds before attempting another search

I was not able to get on last night using either Chrome or Safari. I had some friends try from their computers which are not Macs & they had these results:

Friend #1

I clicked on "current subscriber login" that was highlighted in yellow.

When I click on Join Open Original Shared Link's forum / message board and get your questions answered! Our forum has over 58,000 members waiting to help you, and over 900,000 posts. We'll see you there!, I get page not found.

try this: click on the "current subscriber login" and then click on "forum" in the upper left corner. Looks like this: » Open Original Shared Link Home » Forum » (Store Home) » Login

That took me to the forum, I think

This is what friend 2 using Chrome got:

I got Your username or password is invalid, please try again.

*****************************************

I am on Chrome right now accessing the site but I tried Safari first & was not able to access the site.

Kenlove, did this resolve after you waited 15 seconds? Does it work today?

squirmingitch, most of the issues you described are link issues, and not board issues. I've updated most of the link now, so people should get to the board ok. The login issues look like you are using an incorrect user name--try your email address or your screen name.

I thought I had it this morning. I got in on using Safari this morning & posted a reply here & hit submit & then it gave me the error page again & that was that. I'm now on Chrome trying.

Is there any possibility that your computer has a virus on it? I ask because if your computer is trying to attack the site it would block you.

Scott Adams Grand Master

Also, what error do you see?

squirmingitch Veteran

No, I have antivirus & have scanned it & it's clean. I'm now on Safari & have logged in after clearing cookies & caches. I have not had any trouble on any other sites/forums. Let's see if this post actually posts & doesn't give me the 406 error. fingers crossed.

squirmingitch Veteran

Now this is odd. This last post I made & hit submit reply & then it took me back to that same page as the screenshot I posted the other day on the other thread. I assumed my post did not post as that is what had been happening but I see it in fact did actually post what i wrote. BUT I had to go back & empty caches & clear the cookies and then come back to the site & sign in again. Sigh. I wonder what will happen when I hit submit reply this time? Here goes.....

squirmingitch Veteran

Wait a minute. It did not post. I wrote something about now being able to drag files to the site which I am thrilled about and that post did not show so I was wrong in what I said in my last post above. This time I am waiting a few minutes to see if that makes a difference.

squirmingitch Veteran

Testing to see what happens when I post a comment.

squirmingitch Veteran

Looks like things are working now.

Great!

I had the same issue as Squimingitch.  A 406 error.  Was not able to get on to the forum site for the past 24 hours (or less).  Got on through Facebook a few minutes ago.  Using Explorer now on a laptop as Chrome did not work.  Also tried my ipad using Safari.  So strange!    Will attempt to re-log in under chrome.  I do not think it was a virus.  Who knows?

squirmingitch Veteran

I just posted a reply here & hit submit & got the 406 error again. Just when it looked like everything was fine & dandy. I cleared the cache & cookies & logged in again.

cyclinglady Grand Master

Still some issues.  Cleared all cookies and history and rebooted iPad.  I get on but when I post (can not even type in the reply box)  it boots me completely out of the forum to the main page with the 406 error message.  If this posts then I think everything is resolved.

Bartful has asked me to report that as of last night & continuing this morning she can't get on the site at all. She says, "It just comes up as “Not acceptable”.

I know she's on windows & I believe it's Windows 10.

bartfull Rising Star

Hi folks! I still can't get on using Firefox but I can get on through Internet Explorer. On Firefox I get that "406 Not Acceptable" no matter what I do. It says "Click here to return to home page" but when I do nothing happens. It's already ON the home page when I get that message and it won't let me open any of the tabs.

bartfull Rising Star

OK, Squirmingitch just helped me find a way to clear my cookies and cache. NOTHING on Windows 10 is where it used to be. I couldn't even find "history" until I clicked a bunch of other buttons. And I still can't find anyplace on mail for an address book or contacts. The help page is useless. A ton of people on there have given up and gone back to Windows 7.

But anyway, I am here now on Firefox using Duck Duck Go. Whew! Thanks for the help!

squirmingitch Veteran

You're welcome. I'm glad it worked.

squirmingitch Veteran

Oh now there's something weird going on. Up at the top of the screen ~~~ see how the dark gray bar covers about 2/3 of the blue bar?

bartfull Rising Star

Hmm...now that you mention it...When I first clicked on I couldn't get to New Content because I was no longer logged in. I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to find a log in button. I have that same grey bar across the top but there is nothing showing on the blue part behind it like there is on yours. I have no place for notifications or mail now.

I'm going to go over to "Microsoft Edge" and see what it looks like. Be right back.

Be interesting to see the effects of dairy reintroduction with gluten. As well as milk protein sensitivity in and of itself the casein part particularly has been shown to mimic gluten in about 50% of celiacs. Keep us posted!

She has been dairy free for six years, so she’d already been dairy free for two years at her last testing and was dairy free for the entire gluten challenge this year as well (that had positive results). However, now that we’re doing another biopsy in six weeks, we decided to do everything we can to try to “see” the effects, so we decided this past week to add back in dairy temporarily for breakfast (milk and cereal combo like you said).

Hi Christiana, Many thanks for your response.  Interestingly, I too cannot eat wheat in France without feeling effects (much less than in the US, but won't indulge nonetheless).  I also understand children are screened for celiac in Italy prior to starting their education. Wise idea as it seems my grandson has the beginning symptoms (several celiacs in his dad's family), but parents continue to think he's just being difficult.  Argh.  There's a test I took that diagnosed gluten sensitivity in 2014 via Entero Labs, and am planning on having done again.  Truth be told, I'm hoping it's the bromine/additives/preservatives as I miss breads and pastas terribly when home here in the states!  Be well and here's to our guts healing ❤️

Lol that’s so true! Hope you get clarity, it’s tough when there’s doubt. There’s so much known about celiac disease with all the scientific research that’s been done so far yet practically and clinically there’s also so much unknown, still. Out of curiosity what’s her dairy consumption like? Even compared to early years to now? Has that changed? Calcium is dependent in the mechanism of antigen presenting cells in the gut. High calcium foods with gluten grains can initiate inflammation greater.  This is why breakfast cereals and milk combo long term can be a ticking time bomb for genetically susceptible celiacs (not a scientific statement by any means but my current personal opinion based on reasoning at present). Milk and wheat are the top culprits for food sensitivity. Especially in childhood. There are also patient cases of antibodies normalising in celiac children who had milk protein intolerance/ delayed type allergy. Some asymptomatic. There were a couple of cases of suspected celiacs that turned out to have milk protein intolerance that normalised antibodies on a gluten containing diet. Then there were others that only normalised antibodies once gluten and milk was eliminated. Milk kept the antibodies positive. Celiac disease is complicated to say the least.

And thank you for your encouragement. I am glad that her body is doing a good job fighting it. I also just want clarity for her moving forwards. She was only 6 for the last round of testing and she's 10 now, so I'm also hoping that makes a difference. It was weird during her last round of testing though, because right before her biopsy, we'd upped her gluten intake by giving her biscuits made from straight up vital wheat gluten, and her labs actually normalized slightly (lower ttg and her ema went negative). Bodies just do weird things sometimes! lol
