Celia? Unable to Gain weight

Hi All,

I really need your help. I have been suffering from this strange disease. It started 1 year ago when my weight was 56 KG (32 years, male).

I started having bloating and started pooping (absolutely normal) pooping 3 to 4 times a day. I lost 16 kgs weight over the time.

Now after this 1 year, all my problem has subsided. I have almost zero bloating, no pain anywhere. But sometimes I poop 2 times a day and that is more than what I eat I think.

The main problem, my weight is not changing no matter what.

One doc is saying I have IBS, another is saying I have celiac and the 3rd and the last one is saying I have Crohn's.

What could be the reason I am unable to gain weight no matter how hard I am try.

Currently, I am taking only lactobacillus pro biotic to heal my gut.

Any help, any suggestion will be immensely appreciated.

Should I buy a plant-based protein supplement?

Kind regards

deb

First you need to get properly tested for celiac disease, you have to gluten daily for 12 weeks for the test to be accurate, please read.

I have been trying to body build with celiac for a few years, it can be difficult but a few things I have found, is first off plant based protein powders are better and easier on the gut. Blends like MRM Veggie Elite, and Nutra Key V-pro were good (I do custom blends now). Pea protein is high in several key amino acids and iron, Naked Pea and Growing Naturals are my top pics here. Pumpkin Protein is great for recovery and high in zinc, Jarrow is the best priced and top pick for pure, Julian Bakery has a nice cinnamon twist pegan. Sancha Inchi Seed is another good one, you can get it from Julian as unflavored pegan, or MRM makes it. For a nutrient add in targeted for celiac try Pioneer Labs Celiac complete meal, it has some stuff to be easier on the gut, try having a scoop with your meals. ALSO eat plenty of fats like almond butter, avocado, etc. I went to a ketogenic/paleo diet to managed another disease but has enabled me to put on a few lbs of lean muscle since doing it and I feel much better.

Digestive Enzymes can help you get more nutrients from your food and ease digestion, and snacking on nuts, protein shakes (I use coconut milk based high fat ones), or protein bars like Julian Bakery bars between meals can help,
Might consider supplementing b-vitmains, vitamin D, etc.
