Does anyone know of a good sub for Campbell's Cream of Tomato Soup? I have several recipes that Use the tomato soup, and I haven't found a good substitute. I used to use Heinz that was imported from England, but I can't find that now.If you find me a good substitute, I'll give you a couple of super recipes.

I have tried it and it is too sweet, plus it is not condensed and will not work in my recipes.

I use the Progresso gluten-free soups and they are pretty good. I'm not a fan of tomato soup so not sure if that particular one is good. Just make sure you look on the back of the can, it's labeled in small white print "Gluten Free". I think they also make gluten versions too.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I need a condensed soup (like Campbell's) to use in recipes. I guess I could use regular soup and thicken it with corn starch.

I think the take away here is - there is not a “ condensed” one but we are making do with the non- condensed kinds

Walmart does carry gluten-free condensed soups and they seem pretty good:

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
