Hi Everyone - I was thinking about ordering some shampoo and such from the gluten-free Savonnerie. Has anyone used their products? If so, would you recommend them? I've been using California Baby, which I really like, but I also really like trying new stuff B) ...I don't want to order it though if it's not all that great...

Hi Mango--I've been using their stuff for a few months now. I am very happy with them. I use the shampoo, conditioner, lotion and premium bar soap. They are coming out with a hair styling spray--they're sending me a sample to try and give my opinion. The products have no scent at all--which I like. You need to use a lot of water with the shampoo--once you do, it lathers well. The shipping on a whole order (I'm in NJ) is 3.99--and I usually get it the next day if I order in the AM. I don't think the prices are bad, either--I used to spend more on the salon-type products I used.

We just started ordering a few weeks ago. We have the soap(bar and liquid) and the lotion. The lotion, in particular, was a godsend. I was desperate for lotion that was safe and didn't have a scent. My husband has terrible allergies and can't take things with scent. I am caring for little ones with celiac and my hands need to be gluten-free, so the lotion was a great match for us. I used the bar soap this morning and loved it! My husband even commented on enjoying the new soap, so it MUST be good! :)

It sounds like good stuff. I think I'll order some. :)

I really like the bar soaps - don't dry my skin like some of the other natural bars. I think the lotion is nice - a little too much for my face, but good elsewhere. No scent at all, either. Decent prices, too.

Another happy customer here. I use the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soaps and the liquid castile soap. My mom washed her hands at my house a few weeks ago with the liquid soap and loved it...she even asked me where I got it. I love the bar soaps...before this I used Cetaphil, I like these much better. I use the classic or premium bars. I've tried California Baby, and I like it too, but I think I like the GFS shampoo and conditioner a bit better. You can't beat their customer service...a very pleasant experience.

DITTO JERSEY!!!!

Mark the president of the co talked to me on the phone when i told him about my dried out hair problems.

He sent a a product free to try to see if it helped and wanted feed back.

It's an awesome company and the products last longer than others.

I don't like useing a bar soap personally so got the 9 oz liquid foaming soap and use in the shower.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT AND THE COMPANY.

Looking forward to testing to hair styling spray too.

Judy

Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works

So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.
