My first gluten free exp. at P.F.Chang's went so well that I wanted to let others who may not know yet that it's a great restaurant. LOVED the gluten free menu. Full of real meals! We took so much home because we were too full to finish. The lettuce wrap chicken is NOT a dietetic dish. Huge portions, great flavor and really nice environment. Happy eating.

Thanks! I have my b-day coming up in a couple of weeks, I was thinking of going there. Is anything on the gluten-free menu kid friendly at all????

I love PF Changs, but just be sure you keep reminding the servers that you need everything gluten-free! Some are more careful than others. The last time I went, I got VERY sick and I'm sure they brought me regular lettuce wraps instead of the gluten-free. They were trying to make up the special sauce at my table with regular soy sauce and someone other than my server actually brought over the wraps. I love the gluten-free menu, though, and I appreciate that they have it available for us. My kids love many things on the menu. ALSO- in my area (Southern CA) they have an Asian diner which is associated with PF CHangs called Pei Wei. They have a small gluten-free menu, too and it's great to eat in or take out. They "breaded" mu chicken in potato starch and were very careful with all parts of my order.

I went to PF Chang's to celebrate my 30th B-day with my best friend earlier this month. 1st time I've eaten out since last Sept. when I went gluten-free. It was great. The lettuce wraps were wonderful. I'm getting hungry! :P

I love PF Chang's too. I did get gluttened once, but it was because they had messed up and made my lettuce wrap's with chicken and then when I sent them back I forgot to specify them being gluten free too. I get mine made with tofu. Anyway, I knew when they came back they looked different, but ate them anyway. I was very sick. I have since gone back though and have had a good experience twice. I am glad they have a gluten-free menu. It is the one place my husband and I can go on a date and he loves eating there. My kids had fun eating there an liked the lettuce wraps, but the other foods we got were too spicey for them. Maybe we just got the wrong stuff for them.

I eat at Changs a lot and haven't gotten sick yet. But I'm careful there...you have multiple servers and the place is always very busy, so your gluten free status could easily get lost. One night I ordered the "Philip's Better Chicken" (which is fabulous and lemony) but when the order came I didn't realize they gave the wrong dish...I ate a bunch of it before I started thinking "Wait, this isn't the lemon chicken...is it?" I asked the waiter, and he in turn got the manager, and they determined from talking to the cooks that it was the gluten-free spicy chicken one by mistake, but still gluten free. THe manager was so concerned he didn't charge us for it. Of course, at the end of the meal server #1 (who took the original gluten-free order) left us 2 fortune cookies (one of my big weaknesses--so my hubby quickly ate mine to get it out of sight!).

My only two good gluten-free restaurants at this point are Changs and Outback. I hope to find others.

You might try Heallix.  It's a silver solution with fulvic acid. I just put the solution on with a cotton ball.  It seemed to stop the nerve pain. Again,  not in your eyes or ears.   Go to heallix.com to read more about it and decide for yourself Also,  I do think nerve and celiac combined have a lot to do with your susceptibility to shingles breaking out.

Celiac disease requires both genetic potential and a triggering stress event to activate the genes. Otherwise it remains dormant and only a potential problem. So having the genetic potential is not deterministic for celiac disease. Many more people have the genes than actually develop the disease. But if you don't have the genes, the symptoms are likely being caused by something else.

Yes, i pulled raw ancetry data and saw i have 2/3 markers for DQ2.2 but have heard from friends in genetics that this raw data can be wildly innacurate

Thanks, I’m still dealing with the pain and tingling and itching and feeling like bugs or something crawling around on my face and scalp. It’s been a miserable experience. I saw my eye doc last week, the eye itself was okay, so they didn’t do anything. I did take a 7 day course of an antiviral. I’m hoping for a turnaround soon! My life is full of stress but I have been on / off the gluten free diet for the last year , after being talked into going back on gluten to have a biopsy, that looked okay. But I do have positive antibody levels that have been responsive  to a gluten free diet. I can’t help but wonder if the last year has caused all this.

I don't think any apps are up to date, which is exactly why this happened to you. Most of the data in such apps is years old, and it doesn't get updated in real time. Ultimately there is no substitution for learning to read labels. The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
