Rachel -- I know I have the same moodieness problem, and I don't think it's hormonal. It is more pronounced since my dx, but it is getting bad. ie. Last night I got mad at DW for FLIPPING THE PAGES ON THE NEWSPAPAER TOO LOUD!!:o:unsure:

Sounds silly, and NEVER would I get mad at her for anything, but the paper think was driving me CRAZY!!

OMG...I get the same way!! I totally know what you're talking about....I get crazy when my mom is chewing gum with her mouth open. If I'm really irritable every little thing will get on my last nerve. Thankfully, its not too often that I'm like this.

TheDave said that I snapped at him the other day...it was the first time I'd ever got snappy with him. I'm telling you the last few days have been bad for me as far as that goes.

What did you get? I always get the cheeseburger but the last time it didn't taste right.

Where do you get your coconut oil? I can't find it. B)

I got a hamburger with lettuce and tomato, french fries, and asparagus (trying to keep it healthy!).

I get my coconut oil at Wild Oats, I've also seen it at health food stores. It's in what looks like a glass peanut butter jar.

The meat was a little yellow, and very hard... but the "eye" was very easy to put a hole in if that means anyting.

That must be why she bought the ice cream at Whole Foods!!!

Actually I buy *everything* at Whole Foods. The ice cream is organic and I've never seen it anywhere else. The only thing I'll buy from my work is water....I would never buy my food there. Theres hardly anything organic in my store....except maybe that organic beef that I made hamburgers with.

Vincent,

It should be white on the inside....not yellow. It must be bad.

That sucks.

Thanks, no wild oats or whole foods around here. Went to Trader Joe's - they didn't have it. Will check some of the smaller places.

Glad you got to eat out. I've eaten at Carrabas a few times- their Chicken Brian is really good. :P

Maybe he won't be back on here for awhile again. Then, if you don't have a reaction, you're in the clear. It's not as if he's your boss anymore and would have to deal with brainfog there. Of course, he'd still be unhappy with the incident.

Andrea, I just got off the phone with him....I told him what I did with the ice cream. I've been telling him I think my hormones are all haywire right now. He said I always have good excuses. When I forget to do an order or fail to do other important tasks at work....its usually cuz of brainfog. When I get irritable or maKe bad judgement calls regarding my diet....its usually cuz of hormones or a reaction to chemicals. Its all true though...they are only good excuses cuz they are REAL. :P

Sounds like the stress of waiting for your results were getting to you. Did the ice cream fix that? It always tastes so good when we indulge.....just doens't make our tummies feel very good.

Seems like a lot of us have been not feeling good, down, stressed, lately. :(

Ummmm, straight sugar probably wouldn't be so good. How 'bout a bag of nuggets, chocolate chips, bumble bars, or container of ice cream. :P

Those seems to be the vices on this thread.

Here is a detailed list of how a dentist should safely remove amalgam fillings.

Obviously my dentist did none of these things and look where it left me. 4 years ago I could have eaten all the ice cream I wanted....any flavor with all the toppings. I could get it at Baskin Robbins for desert after I ate a hawaiin style pizza for dinner. Now look.

On the bright side of things....if I was still eating pizza and Baskin Robbins...I would have not met all of you.

Well...so far I have survived my overindulgence of chocolate ice cream. I dont know what tomorrow will bring but I'm gonna stay away from my remaining pint of ice cream....at least for the rest of the weekend. :)

I learned tonite that Tailz did test positive for Lyme Disease so will keep her in my prayers. I may not have agreed with all that she said but I certainly can relate to her frusteration in waiting so long for a proper diagnosis. I'm not sure how long she was undiagnosed but Lyme Disease is progressive and the longer it goes untreated the more damage it causes.

In my case....my symptoms have remained the same. I havent recovered and I havent worsened. I guess I should be thankful that whatever I have is not progressive as long as I stay strict on my diet.

AndreaB Contributor

Tailz is posting over in the DailyStrength forum. I saw her post yesterday over there.

I still don't believe that celiac is really undiagnosed lyme, but I do believe like celiac that it is underdiagosed and if the gluten free diet doesn't resolve symptoms and those symptoms are similar to lyme that a person would be better off to test for it.

OK, did I open a can of worms. Not my intention folks.

learned I had a high PTH level in 2022 suspected to be due to low vit D  got my vit D level up a bit but still have high PTH   I am 70 yrs old (today in fact) I am looking for someone who also has hyperparathyroidism that might be caused by malabsorption

I am on day 13 of eating gluten  and have decided to have the celiac panel done tomorrow instead of Wed. (and instead of extending it a few more weeks) because I am SO incredibly sick. I have almost no appetite and am not able to consume the required daily intake of calcium to try to keep up with the loss of calcium from the high parathyroid hormone and/or the renal calcium leak.    I have spent the past 15 years working hard to improve my health. I lost 50lbs, got off handfuls of medications, lowered my cholesterol to enviable levels, and in spite of having end stage osteoarthritis in both knees, with a good diet and keeping active I have NO pain in those joints- til now.  Almost all of my joints hurt now I feel like someone has repeatedly punched me all over my torso- even my ribs hurt- I have nausea, gas, bloating, headache, mood swings, irritability, horrid flatulence (afraid to leave the house or be in any enclosed spaces with other people- the smell would knock them off their feet) I was so sure that I wanted a firm diagnosis but now- I'm asking myself is THIS worth it? esp over the past 2 yrs I have been feeling better and better the more I adjusted my diet to exclude highly refined grains and processed foods. I didn't purposely avoid gluten, but it just happened that not eating gluten has made me feel better.   I don't know what I would have to gain by getting a definitive diagnosis. I think possibly the only advantage to a DX would be that I could insist on gluten-free foods in settings where I am unable to have access to foods of my choice (hospital, rehab, nursing home)  and maybe having a medical reason to see a dietician?   please let me know if it's reasonable to just go back to the way I was eating.  Actually I do plan to buy certified gluten-free oats as that is the only grain I consume (and really like) so there will be some minor tweaks I hope and pray that I heal quickly from any possible damage that may have been done from 13 days of eating gluten.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
