actually had time to read up on lyme today. is it ok to be terrified? :(

Yes, but only for a minute .... once you know the face of the monster making you ill, you will only then be able to fight it.

I'm feeling pretty tired today myself ... I had a little energy this morning, but all the activity is catching up with me.

Yes, I'm going to a doc in NY in January .... I'll have to find that name again.

It will have been two weeks that Igenex rec'd the blood on Tues. I expect that with the holiday it may take a little longer.

Then I went to buy some new shampoo ... they added wheat and oats to Alterna ... jerks ...

Jerks!!! Why do they have to change a perfectly good product...I just don't understand it.

As far as I know there was no extra cost....you can also bring in any supplements or meds you want to have tested.

Making bracelets and lying on the couch sounds sooo peaceful and relaxing to me. I've been up since 4...had to go in to work....filling up milk and eggs. Not fair.

Thanks! Well, I woke up at 4:30, but just didn't get out of bed until after 5:00, lol. Hopefully you'll get to relax soon!

Doggies licking your fingers.....I have that every day here. :) I don't know what I would do without my girls, and they were allowed to go to my brother's (their stinkiness usually deters social invitations :lol

very humourous indeed! and crazily sad......

Yes, I'm so happy my cousin brings hers to all family functions...they are beagles...rescued from a research lab, and they are adorable.

it's just SO cold here today! (well, we are wussies in California, it's probably 50 degrees and that is freezing to me, to go hiking  )

Yep, I had a long sleeve tee-shirt, a sweat shirt and the space heater on today...we really are wussies, we Californians, lol.

lyme ladies...today was a bad day for me...couldn't even make it into work. actually had time to read up on lyme today. is it ok to be terrified? :(

I'm sorry you had a bad day! Yes, I'd say not only is it okay, but I'd go so far to say that I might be worried if you weren't terrified! :(

 I'm the first to admit, I'm a big baby!:lol: I did have some small excuse though...I needed to get some stuff together for the trip--hadn't even begun to think about packing...it's hard to think about what to take to the caribbean when you're shivering, lol. I am now mostly packed though. Gotta love those space heaters.

Sure, for a minute but then remember you are in the company of Lunatic Laughing Lyme Ladies and you are going to be just fine. We are fearless, capable of exploring voodoo magic, confronting idiot doctors, investigating and treating ourselves, and very importantly we can laugh at the Lyme Monster. This is not bragging.:lol::lol: We are surrounded by friends here in Rachelville and we know that here is a place.... now I need the Cheers lyrics.

I must say, that is why I was supposed to go. I needed to hear that. I felt like I was being wrapped in a big hug.

That's one of my favorites!

Quick drive-by.....gotta go to BioSET. Another chemical treatment. :o

Just wanted to say this.....I'm the BIGGEST wussie of all! OMG....I'm freakin COLD!! I NEED a serious heatwave right about now. I'm wearing 2 pairs of long johns under my pants. I think 4 layers on top....at work I had to wear by big puffy jacket OVER these 4 layers...and STILL COLD!!

I dont like coldness. :(

Maybe it is the Lyme...turning off my body heat??

Rachel, maybe it's time for a sauna, sorry you are so cold. :(

Laura, that is a beautiful passage and so deeply true. Thank you for posting it. :)

Laura, what comforting words--I tell ya, I felt like I was wrapped in a hug as I read it. Just beautiful :) I was reading what you said about your decision to stay with the doctor at JH. It sounds like a good idea. He seems to be open-minded and realizes that you know what you're talking about. You are going to get this all worked out :)

Rinne, I hope you are feeling better today--you do sound more positive! I bought the tea you suggested--Tension Tamer. I haven't tried it yet because I bought it on Wednesday and didn't want to feel too relaxed while I needed to cook for Thanksgiving! Going to have a cup tonight, though  Thanks! Oh, glad you liked the Cheers theme--it just goes through my head sometimes :D

Rachel, How did you do yesterday? It about broke my heart that you were spending the day alone. I even told my husband that it must be some kind of cosmic joke that I can feel so close to people who are in reality thousands of miles away. You know that if we were closer geographically, you would have been invited to our table with us having whatever you could manage. :)

Donna, How was your resting day? It sounded very nice, actually! :D How cute do your cousin's beagles sound?

Sorry to everyone who's cold and can't seem to get warm. I always ran hot--to the point where the slighest exertion would make me sweat, even in the dead of winter. Now, I get cold easily--but today, it was georgeous, sunny and warm enough to open a few windows. It's supposed to be nice through the weekend. I hope we don't pay for this with a harsh, cold winter.

Susan--How you doin' today, Sweetie? Did you have to work?

Carla, you look like one of the kids in your new picture--very cute! Your son is very handsome.

Wierd not having Andrea here  I hope all is going well for her with her dad and all.

Thanks, Patti!

Patti's right, any of you would have been invited here, too. :)

I'll iron the pillowcases.

It does feel odd without Andrea here. :)

I bought new napkins and placemats for Thanksgiving ... I've always had not enough, and with our new dining room table, I thought it was time for new ones. So, I washed them first and took them upstairs ... hubby asked what I was doing, and I told him I was ironing them. He couldn't comprehend that they needed to be ironed! Now, if I started ironing pillow cases, I don't know what he'd do!!

I'll be glad to get an update from Andrea.

 Carla--I bought a new tablecloth and napkins! I lucked out--they're not cotton so I ran them thru the wash and put the tablecloth directly on the table from the dryer and folded the napkins quickly! No wrinkles and no ironing, either :D Bone lazy

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
