I don't think the sauna is what's making me feel bad ... I felt this way before we got it. Last herx it was an hour in the sauna that pulled me out of it. Once I get up and work out, I feel pretty good the rest of the day.

As quickly as the treatment seems to be helping, I'm guessing I just need the rest. Then all of a sudden, out of the blue, I'll have a few good days where I get right up in the morning!

Today I didn't take a sauna and I'm still fried.

Umm, Addison called the alternative guy a quack... big mistake, but you'll have to watch to see. ;)

Why would the sauna make things worse? That's intersting. Of course, if they aren't detoxing I could see that, but...

Saunas make things worse the same way too many drops of NDF make things worse or too much chlorella or too much of anything that loosens up metals. Its releasing toxins from wherever they're stored...not all of it can get detoxed.

Dr. K. recommends that mercury toxic people dont get into a sauna at all until they've done quite a bit of other detox stuff first. In other words....not at the beginning of treatment when someone is loaded with metals.

The concern is the same as it is with anything else that mobilizes metals...that they can get redistributed to more harmful areas...particularly the brain. Sometimes metals are stored in places where they're not causing alot of harm...but when they're mobilized they can always end up in the brain or causing damage to organs or whatever. Thats the risk involved.

Carla...the concern about too much sauna is mainly having to do with heavy metals.

I know better than to do that!

Its been 2 years now that I havent needed naps. I cant even imagine taking naps now!!

It sounds good though.. :P

That makes sense.

Speaking of chlorella. Talitha and I had some this morning. Ick is all I can say (her too). I had 1/8 tsp and she had less than that. I mixed it in water. She said her stomach felt weird but nothing else out of the ordinary.

Hugs Rach, I cannot begin to digest all the scientificness of your posts and treatments. I can't keep up and am SO far behind! I just hope whatever you're doing is allowing you to feel a bit better AND eat your melted ice cream. Er, are you still on that, or onto something else wacky?? :) Watch out for that bougainvillea, they are gorgeous, I planted three white ones this year and they all died in the freeze.

No staring dingos this weekend. I will take them to the park and hikes and many things so as to elminate the need to stare at mommy. ;)

Gray's coming on - gotta go!

Happy belated page 1000!!

DH is lecturing me about going to bed, so I can't write much.

Tomorrow, I have more unnatural tests done to my body. Ohhh, can't wait :P .

Are we now on the the wedding pictures? Oh, I'd love to post mine, but they are super HUGE and it will take some doing to get them small enough.

Jin, whoa, that glam-girl shot is taking me back to the "Flock of Seagull" days. I have a good pic of me from that era, but don't think it's digital.

Hasta, Claire

Okay this is off the subject, but I have two salmon in the freezer I got from whole foods. They are from a alaska fishery and are whole foods brand. Should I eat them considering there might not be any mercury or just minimal. I need an idea on what to eat for lunch, My naturopath suggested I could eat salmon as long as it comes from a good source and not farmed. On the Happy Feet insert they list the best to the worst fish to eat and they put alaskan salmon as the best choice. So any suggestions would be great thank you.

LIsa

P.S.

Greg's anatomy is weird tonight.

All salmon is going to have some mercury in it. The alaska wild salmon is the best and lowest in mercury concentration, but there is still some there.

I forget what else I wanted to say.....

Does chlorella make you feel kinda sick to your stomach and hungry and the same time?

I love that analogy- I watch the food network all the time- and yes I guess it is the equivelant of porn -its also kind of masachistic.

I have always wanted to do epsom salt baths but never do - I goota get on the boat. I did buy this stuff I think it is called masters miracle it is like a low intesity detox bath I actually thik it was good for me I took them a few times this winter I will post info on the stuff later today it might be good for some of you guys.

Rachel-

Yeah rachel I could definitly see why the saunas would be too much for me . Like anything else its probably one of those things that are good for you to do everyonce in a hwile while you are so sensitive and than maybe can increase when your body gets acclimated to it. That sounds like a really intense appt. you had yesturday. Ohh not to sound like to much of a mommy but you need more sleep!!!!!

Donna-

I think your disability idea sounds really good for you- I think you should do it

Andrea-

I just coulden't take the chlorella it messed with me.

Ok last night I ate peanut butter well actually I made cold seseme noodles(using peanut butter- its one of those foods I have beeen craving for so long)- it was really good and (fingers crossed) I think it actually went ok!!

jerseyangel Proficient

Miamia--Those noodles with peanut butter sauce sound incredible! I'm so glad that it is agreeing with you :)

It was good. I think I like the new show, too. Great, that's all I need, another 'Grey's night'!

I haven't watched Grey's yet...it came on at 9:00 here too so it was too late to even start watching. :P I'll watch it when I get home today...feel free to speak of whatever you wish about it now, lol. Knowing what happens doesn't ruin it for me...I'm the kind of person who reads the last page of a book first to see whether it's worth me spending my time reading it. I still enjoy the book and by the time I get to the end I've forgoteen what it was anyway...same with movies and shows. :P Hum, it seemed like maybe the new show might be a bit boring...I'm glad to hear you liked it.

Its been 2 years now that I havent needed naps. I cant even imagine taking naps now!!

It sounds good though..

I feel like I need a nap every day, but when I lay down, I just don't fall asleep. I feel like I need a nap now and I've only been awake for 2 hours...technically...I've actually been awake for hours because I DIDN'T SLEEP AGAIN, lol. :P

Speaking of chlorella. Talitha and I had some this morning. Ick is all I can say (her too). I had 1/8 tsp and she had less than that. I mixed it in water. She said her stomach felt weird but nothing else out of the ordinary.

Tastes awful doesn't it! I was mixing it with my other liquid vitamins which actually have a bit of sweetener in it and adding a little stevia in a glass of water. That made it palletable, but don't know what it did to the absorbtion of the vitamins, lol.

Dunno....maybe you're turning into me???

 Uggg, no more for me though...felt icky all day after that, and still do and gained TWO pounds! I just cannot metabolize carbs. :(

Thanks. That's the same one I had up before, it's just zoomed in on me. B's forehead looks like my shoulder.

It DOES look like your shoulder...I almost made a comment yesterday that my new picture is in keeping with the head to shoulder look in your picture.

Happy 19th Birthday Morgan!!!!!

Happy Belated Birthday to Morgan!!!!

Greg's anatomy is weird tonight.

:o

Does chlorella make you feel kinda sick to your stomach and hungry and the same time?

Yeah, I think my escapades with chlorella are documented. I was feeling nausea for a couple of weeks there and now I'm not. Chlorella or the other detox stuff are the only things I'm not taking now that I was then.

I think your disability idea sounds really good for you- I think you should do it

I'm glad your peanut butter concoction seemed to work, lol! I just long for peanut butter. :P

I actually hate the idea of disability...not because I want to work so much but mostly because I still feel like I'm able to work. The problem with that is that it is getting harder and harder to get myself to work every day and I'm afraid that at some point I'm going to get the point where I've pushed myself too much and that that will just make things worse and harder to recover from. My adrenals are just not coming back, and I can actually feel that process happening.

I can't sleep even taking four 3mg melatonin tablets, 2-4 valerian root tablets, two 100mg 5-HTP tablets. Somehow I keep thinking that if I could just sleep when my body WANTS to sleep, I'd get enough. The work schedule I have now just doesn't let me do that. :(

jerseyangel Proficient

I sleep a decent amount most nights--I fall asleep easily by around 10:30-11:00, and usually wake up with a hot flash at about 1:30 (almost like clockwork :o ), go to the bathroom and go right back to sleep.

I still feel tired during the day---but I never nap and very rarely even lay down during the day, unless I'm feeling especially bad.

Right now it's 9:30 AM and My eyelids are feeling heavy. <_<

Maybe a Celiac thing?

CarlaB Enthusiast
...you look YOUNG!! :)

Thank you! I LOVE hearing that! People used to be shocked when they found out how old I was, but I haven't had that happen in a couple years ... I think I may be looking my age these days ... :o

I get grilled cheese sandwiches! They're really good on yeast-free Kinnikinnick bread! Usually Adam makes me egg sandwiches. What's particularly good about them is that fact that I don't have to make them!! That ALWAYS makes food taste better!

That picture is clear because it's cropped from a large picture. I had changed the picture size for the last avatar, but I used the larger one to crop for this. If I had cropped from the small picture it would be blurry.

Hey....I just saw that its Morgans Birthday!!

Happy 19th Birthday Morgan!!!!! :)

She had an exam last night at 7PM and is coming home today for the summer! YAY! Here's what I got her for her birthday (the blue one) ... Open Original Shared Link ... That's what Adam gets for being out of town when I went shopping! :P

@Colleen H   I am just curious,  when you were tested for coeliac disease, did the doctors find out if you had any deficiencies? Sometimes muscle pain can be caused by certain deficiencies, for example, magnesium, vitamin D, calcium, and potassium.   Might be worth looking into having some more tests.  Pins and needles can be neuropathy, again caused by deficiencies, such as iron and B12,  which can be reversed if these deficiencies are addressed. In the UK where I live we are usually only tested for iron, B12 and vitamin D deficiencies at diagnosis.   I was very iron anemic and supplementation made a big difference.  B12 was low normal, but in other countries the UK's low normal would be considered a deficiency.  My vitamin D was low normal, and I've been supplementing ever since (when I remember to take it!) My pins and needles definitely started to improve when my known deficiencies were addressed.  My nutritionist also gave me a broad spectrum supplement which really helped, because I suspect I wasn't just deficient in what I mention above but in many other vitamins and minerals.  But a word of warning, don't take iron unless blood tests reveal you actually need it, and if you are taking it your levels must be regularly monitored because too much can make you ill.  (And if you are currently taking iron, that might actually be making your stomach sore - it did mine, so my GP changed my iron supplementation to a gentler form, ferrous gluconate). Lastly, have you been trying to take anything to lessen the pain in your gut?  I get a sore stomach periodically, usually when I've had too much rich food, or when I have had to take an aspirin or certain antibiotics, or after glutening.  When this happens, I take for just a few days a small daily dose of OTC omeprazole.  I also follow a reflux or gastritis diet. There are lots online but the common denominators to these diets is you need to cut out caffeine, alcohol, rich, spicy, acidic food etc and eat small regularly spaced meals.   When I get a sore stomach, I also find it helpful to drink lots of water.  I also find hot water with a few slices of ginger very soothing to sip, or camomile tea.  A wedge pillow at night is good for reflux. Also,  best not to eat a meal 2-3 hours before going to bed. If the stomach pain is getting worse, though, it would be wise to see the doctor again. I hope some of this helps. Cristiana

I was diagnosed with coeliac disease a couple of years ago [ish]. I love my food and a variety of food, so it's been hard, as it is with everyone. I try and ensure everything I eat doesn't contain gluten, but occasionally I think something must have got through that has gluten in. Mainly I know because I have to dash to the loo, but recently I have noticed that I feel nauseous after possibly being glutened. I think the thing that I have got better at is knowing what to do when I feel wiped out after a gluten 'episode'. I drink loads of water, and have just started drinking peppermint tea. I also have rehydration powders to drink. I don't feel like eating much, but eventually feel like I need to eat. Gluten free flapjacks, or gluten free cereal, or a small gluten free kids meal are my go to. I am retired, so luckily I can rest, sometimes even going to bed when nothing else works. So I feel that I am getting better at knowing how to try and get back on track. I am also trying to stick to a simpler menu and eat mostly at home so that I can be more confident about what I am eating. THANKS TO THOSE WHO REPLIED ABOUT THE NAUSEA .
    • Francis M
Thanks. Since the back and forth and promises of review and general stalling went on for more than six months, the credit company will no longer investigate. They have a cutoff of maybe six months.
    • Scott Adams
Is this the same restaurant? https://www.facebook.com/TheHappyTartFallsChurch/ Is it too late to take this up with your credit card company? Normally you have a few months to do a chargeback with them. It seems very odd that they are taking this approach with someone who is likely to be a regular customer--not a good business-minded way of handling things!
    • Scott Adams
Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. This article may be helpful: The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.  Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend that those just diagnosed with celiac disease take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement, which would greatly benefit most, if not all, newly diagnosed celiacs. Because of this it took me decades to overcome a few long-standing issues I had that were associated with gluten ataxia, for example numbness and tingling in my feet, and muscle knots--especially in my shoulders an neck. Only long term extensive supplementation has helped me to resolve these issues.
