That is ridiculous. You would think they could prepare the meat far far away from the wholesome poisons! The word "wholesome" is a very unneccesary addition to that notice, in my opinion. At least they're warning people...but still.....

Again, I take the side of the grocery store. They have a limited amount of space and since there is a chance of cross contamination, they are disclosing it rather than keepng it a secret.

Instead of protesting (which will likely accomplish very little), a better idea would be to tour the meat/fish department with a local manager and make the determination yourself.

I never get upset with places that disclose a potential danger to me -- in fact, I am grateful for it.

In my experience, if you go and take a tour with the guys and see how they operate, I am sure you will see the chance for cross-contamination is very low.

Then again, everyone has their own opinion about this stuff. I can certainly sympathize with the urge to complain to them.

it does seem a little ridiculous they refer to them as 'wholesome' because clearly anyone concerned about the addition of these ingredients wouldn't view them as "wholesome"

Personally a tour would not work for me, it could be different from day to day depending on who's working. It may give you a general idea of how much they clean up and handle cross contamination but I think it only does for that staff, that day.

I just don't like that at all, it seems like the day could come when we can't eat food from the grocery store (what do I have to raise my own chickens and a cow now?). I've seen stores with similar signs in the deli counter because of the seasonings that are on some of the deli meats, now I may not be able to eat fresh meats, fish, chicken... I bet this could apply to the cheese department because I know some cheese has gluten in it and they cut it right there in the cheese department (most likely with the same cutting board and knives). Where does it stop, I wonder.....

It could be there is actually a chance of CC or it could be Publix' attorney told them to post this warning just in case. Sounds like they're simply listing those top 8 allergens in the new law to cover their rears.

Has their fresh meat ever made you sick that you know of? Do you ever eat out. If you do, believe me yours odds of CC are much higher at the restaurant.

FYI-I ask the deli to wipe down the machine before cutting my meat. They are very nice, and clean it for me. Maybe your store would do the same?

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
