Amanda has been accepted to "Make-a-Wish". She has chosen to go see Cinderella at Disneyworld.

If your Doctor approved it (which he or she will) since it is a Deadly disease (which i dont like to admit) your child can make a wish too.

She is soooo excited. i am so happy for her. all i hear is "are we going to see "Cinnanella" yet? huh? huh?"

That is so wonderful. She is at the age where everything will be utter magic. Cinderella will come and talk to each child. I can't remember if it is breakfast or lunch. But, my 8 year (at that time) Granddaughter, thought all of Disney was real. Her favorite was Goofy and she wrapped herself around his legs at one breakfast. He told my husband, that was so nice -better then being kicked LOL.

That's wonderful news! I would be excited too if I was Amanda B) Disney characters are always cool. The folks at Disneyworld and Make-a-Wish Foundation are good people. When I went to Disneyworld, I saw a little girl with cancer who got to meet Peter Pan. I had never saw such a sweet smile on anyone's face. They do a good job, so, I know she'll have fun!

Sorry, I think I got you mixed up with another poster.

I hadn't been eating gluten free before having the antibody test done. I started eating gluten free after having the test done because the gastro PA told me to eat gluten-free for 6 months. I'm now 3 months in.

I tend to agree with RMJ. Your doc took the reasonable and practical approach to diagnosis. All things considered, it was the right way to go. However, if you have first degree relatives that show signs of possible celiac disease, urge them to get formally tested before they start the gluten free diet.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.
