The Endoscopy Went Great!

Everything looks normal but we won't get the results of the biopsy until next week, so keep your fingers crossed until then. I'm hoping he doesn't have a bunch of eos and other inflammatory cells like me. I guess they took some biopsys of his small intestinal tract to rule out celiac, so hopefully that comes back ok too.

He was such a big boy, though he did complain a few times about being hungry and thirsty and asked "cookie? Drink?" before being taken back. :)

I'm glad everything went well :)

What all were they checking for?

Congratulations! It's always scary when your child (or anyone you love, really) has to undergo something like this, so don't feel silly about your apprehensions. Just rejoice that all went well! We'll all be hoping for the best!

That's great that everything went well.

Nothing wrong with being concerned about how it would go. That's only natural. As mothers we tend to worry or be concerned about a number of things that face us and our children as they grow.

Thanks! He is taking a nap now, but he seems happy. He didn't get mad at me, he was mad at the medical personell. :)

He didn't like the IV when he woke up, but he didn't try to pull it out. He just kept holding his arm up, looking at it and crying. He was very happy to leave there.

He was pretty hungry too, but I am keeping him from eating too much at once.

They are checking for allergic inflamation, eosiniphils, signs of celiac. He has had milk allergy and reflux since birth and has been on medication since he was born (2 years) so they wanted to look in there and see what was going on.

:) I am so glad everything went well for him! It is equally hard on mom or dad emotionally. I hope you are well too! Take care and prayers for good news.

Shai,

So glad the tests went well and that it's all behind you. I know how relieved you must feel to just have it over with. I hope the tests come back good!

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

Yes this is very frustrating for me ... not sure what to think.  Feels like I'm having reactions to a lot of things  Now applesauce?? I don't understand 😞

I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon
