I did not know where to post this but does anyone know any specfics I would need to tell the surgeon when I get these removed my mom has been alittle worried about them putting me to sleep is all that stuff ok for celiacs? I am an ok healthy weight but does that effect the stuff they use to put you to sleep? I get nervous with surgerys. Has anyone had this proceedure done without much trouble?

i had them out in 7th grade, the easiest mouth surgery i ever had, it took them a LOT to put me to sleep, but after that i was fine, surgery is fine for celiacs.

They didn't put me to sleep and mine were impacted. They gave me two valium, then novocain and that laughing gas. This was over 20 years ago, but I know some people were put to sleep for it back then, too. I didn't feel a thing, and was very happy with the valium! I even watched in a mirror!

Buy soft foods, that's my advice!!! It's not fun, but you'll do fine.

thats encouraging, Ive heard you say before that you are little too so the amount they used did not effect you or cause them to have a hard time waking you up?

i couldn't fall asleep they gave me more than the 350 lb. man before me and i was still awake, my body has problems processing anesthesia for some reason.but i did go to sleep

i subsisted on mashed potatoes and gravy for at least three days.

i got novocaine, laughing gas, and then put to sleep.

You do need to let them know about the celiac and make sure that everything they use is gluten free. One of my molars went hot after an overzealous cleaning and even though my dentist had checked everything the surgeon she sent me to did not. By the time I got back from surgery, they put me out, I had blisters in my mouth and throat on the side they pulled the tooth along with a white coating that went down into my throat. These went away quickly but caused the gums to recede a lot exposing the bottom edge of my new crowns. The stuff they will put you to sleep with is most likely okay but you do need to worry about anything they stick in your mouth.

oh my goodness i have to get this done yeah i have to get the rest pulled out umm i need help too novocaine????

Just let them know you need it to be gluten-free, and they can accomodate. According to my dentist, he has some registry that tells them all about what of their products have allergens, etc. I have not ever been glutened by a dentist, though one of them did buy different gloves to work on me, and a different kind of dental dam, so maybe somethings gluten in the dusting?

As for the wisdoms, Valium is an awesome drug. I also need extra anesthesia to get knocked out, but I was out like a light with that stuff, happy as could be. They gave me an IV of though, which might have helped. My only thing was when I woke up I started crying, which they said was cause they had to give me so much valium. I wasn't scared or sad or in pain, was just crying. Was kinda weird. Also, yay do it now before they impact. I never had a problem with mine, then had to have emergency surgery overnight. Getting them out is totally the right thing to do, and a great excuse to get pampered and eat lots of pudding. (Try Kozy Shack, is super nummy and gluten-free)

No need to worry about novocaine or any other injectable drug :)

Just be sure to let your dentist know you need to be gluten-free.

      Have Tru Joy Sweets Choco Chews been discontinued??

      Please read the original post--they are looking for a gluten and milk-free treat to replace Tootsie Rolls for their child who loves Tootsie Rolls, but can no longer have them due to a dairy issue--they are not looking for M&M's.

      I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets...

Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver.After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.
