I have read of people having lattes, so I assume they are ok.....but not sure since I don't drink them.

If you can have dairy, lattes are fine. I only know about Starbucks, but their lattes are fine, and the syrups are, too.

Yes, in general latte's should be gluten-free. Infact most places will only put exactly what you say you want in it, and most will allowyou to supply your own soy milk if you need it. You will have to check the brand of soy milk they use (if you need it) but there is another risk that you do need to be concerned with.

The Steaming wand for the (soy)milk (essentail to a decent late) is dipped in to the (soy)milk. It SHOULD be cleaned after every use, but you will want to double check that. Some shops reuse milk steaming pitchers between customers, so you will need to watch for that too.

MOST of the major flavorings are baiscly sugar (or sugar-sub) + a liquid supsension and do not have gluten in them, odviously you do have to check them. My shop used the Davinci line, which the entire line is gluten-free.

Coffee its self gluten-free so you only have to worry about what you have them add to it.

I am new user adding to the comment about syrups. Not to be the person with the bad news, but carmel coloring is in every syrup at Starbucks (I worked there), it is also in all the Toroni Flavorings, syrup in general, and most of the pearl tea flavorings EVERYWHERE. Even if there is no carmel coloring, there are both artificial flavors and colorings that you really need to CALL about. Unless you have never reacted to it, I would NOT suggest experimentation at All.

I have been in denial about the my reactions to artificial colors, flavors, and carmel colorings for a long time. Sources I have read say that artificial colors and flavors are a mixed bag because half of them are made from a malt base. If you like stuff with these ingredients, you are best to just call the company on that stupid number on the back of the package and ask before you eat it. I know this sounds pretty extreme, but this has been the main source of my "hidden" reactions.

I ended up just getting a skim latte, which is fine. I like the taste of coffee, thank goodness. I do like the sugar free vanilla syrup in them though so I'll have to poke and pry about it next time I go... Thanks Julie

Starbucks corporate says their syrups are gluten-free. Not all carmel coloring, natural and artificial flavors have gluten. I do call companies or check here to see if anyone knows about a specific product, but in this case, Starbucks has verified that the syrup is gluten-free. The Frapps with chips are the only drinks there that have gluten.

It can be confusing sometimes ... the important thing is to check if you're not sure.

I work part time at Borders in the cafe. The one I work at uses Seattle's Best brands.

The coffee's are fine. The syrup's are ok, but I'm very leary of the sauces. They couldn't

give me a definite answer about the sauces.

They even sell gluten free fruit and nut bars. But nothing else in the cafe is safe for me to eat or drink.

Also, you don't have to have any sauces or syrups in your coffee.

Starbucks says theirs are okay, and the celiac that works at the one I go to agrees.

I have heard something about Seattle's Best though, I can't remember what though. Probably something along the lines of what you're saying.

      What you’re describing is actually very common, and unfortunately the timing of the biopsy likely explains the confusion. Yes, it is absolutely possible for the small intestine to heal enough in three months on a strict gluten-free diet to produce a normal or near-normal biopsy, especially when damage was mild to begin with. In contrast, celiac antibodies can stay elevated for many months or even years after gluten removal, so persistently high antibody levels alongside the celiac genes and clear nutrient deficiencies strongly point to celiac disease, even if you don’t feel symptoms. Many people with celiac are asymptomatic but still develop iron and vitamin deficiencies and silent intestinal damage. The lack of immediate symptoms makes it harder emotionally, but it doesn’t mean gluten isn’t harming you. Most specialists would consider this a case of celiac disease with a false-negative biopsy due to early healing rather than “something else,” and staying consistently gluten-free is what protects you long-term—even when your body doesn’t protest right away.

      Yes, I meant if you had celiac disease but went gluten-free before screening, your results would end up false-negative. As @trents mentioned, this can also happen when a total IGA test isn't done.

      I found at Disney springs and Disney they have specialist that when told about dietary restrictions they come and talk to you ,explain cross contamination measures tsken and work with you on choices. Its the one place I dont worry once I've explained I have celiac disease.  Thier gluten free options are awesome.

      Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.
