Just Returned From Chicago

I was in downtown Chicago over the weekend and had great experiences at two restaurants downtown. I was surprised how many choices I had. We had dinner at Vinci's the first night. It is a small Italian restaurant. This was the most impressive gluten free meal I have had at a restaurant. I asked for a gluten free menu, and when we were seated they immediately removed my bread plate from the menu. Everyone was very well trained from the waiter to the assistants in the restaurant. The gluten free menu was very large. In addition, the food was absolutely delicious.

The second evening, we ate at the Wildfire Grill. Again, the waiter was well trained, and the gluten free menu was very large and my meal was excellent.

I would highly recommend either of these two restaurants if you travel to Chicago. However, you will need reservations ahead of time.

Oh I'm so excited! Our Woodfire Grill will open in November of this year (Atlanta). I can't wait!

Glad you had such a nice time. I think NY and Chicago are two of the best places to visit when thinking of your dining out options.

How did you know what restaurants to go to? Or did you just happen to pick restaurants that had gluten-free menus?

My parents live near Chicago, and we will be going there in a few weeks!

Thanks! My wife and I are always looking for more dining options downtown. Another place we like on the near north side with a gluten-free menu is Ben Pao at Illinois and Dearborn.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
