OMgosh I thought last night's episode was so fantastic

They still present so many questions to few answers (i.e. how does Jack and Claire's dad, Christian, fit in to all of this?), but it seems we are moving forward so much more than we have in past seasons.

Julie--I agree....both this week and last week were great. They are finally moving the story forward, and it's ever so much earier to follow.

I couldn't wait to see who would be in Jacob's house--I guess this confirms that Claire is dead since she said she was

"with him" meaning her father.

How creepy was the "orderly" with John in the hospital?.....could he be Jacob? He also appeared at the facility that Hurley was in and somewhere else I can't remember.

Oh gosh--speaking of creepy--that guy who was at the door when John was in the hospital as an infant and came back to test him as a child. He looked scared when John identified the things he showed him, even though he said that the knife didn't belong to him. OMG--and the drawing of the smoke killing a person :o

Can't WAIT for next week--the previews look good :)

That is what I read at some of the blog sites Patti, the theory that "some" people on the island might be dead already, i.e. Claire, and some others....but I won't spoil it

The orderly was that creepy guy that visited Hurley the mental facility after they get off the island, as the Oceanic 6. Also he was involved with putting the "rescue" group together (Naomi, Miles, Charlotte, Daniel, and the helicopter pilot)

Did you recognize that mystery guy who visited Locke as a child? He is one of the "Others", the one who sort of mentored Ben, and from what it seemed like at the time influenced him to kill his father and all of the Dharma initiative members. He was shown in flash backs to when Ben was a child and looked the same then as he did present day, he hadn't aged at all.

Another thing I noticed, that drawing young Locke had done that was hanging on the wall was of the smoke monster!

Thanks! We couldn't place him, but I remember now the scenes of when Ben was young and the whole thing with his father. That was the same guy....interesting.

OMG Julie...I was going to post here about the finale, and just hadn't gotten to it.

I'm really looking forward to tonight :D

Has anyone else noticed that on the show's logo the area above the word "Lost" is an island and the area below is a city? We just noticed that recently.

Where is this logo Patti? I guess I don't know what you are referring to, I need to check it out!

On the commercials for the show. At the end, the word "Lost" appears in front of an island. Mirrored in the ocean below the word, instead of a reflection of the island above, it's the skyline of a city.

Mark noticed it first, and we replayed the commercial (TiVo) and there it was.

Ok, last night's finale made my wee brain hurt!!!:lol:

So much was going on....I'm still not quite sure what I think about it, once again it presented sooooo many questions that will probably take the next 3 seasons to be slowly answered and revealed  Ugh!

What a whirlwind!

jerseyangel Proficient

So, what did ya'll think?

We really enjoyed the show last night--the surprise ending was something! Now the long wait until it returns.

I am excited for next season to see how this all unfolds.

you think you guys are confused? Try not watching it for the last 8 weeks, watch the finale, and THEN see how you feel......

I don't even have enough of an idea as to what's going on to.......even formulate intelligent questions.....

So how did Locke die?

What "terrible things" happened on the island after Jack left?

What's up with Sun's husband? Is he dead or alive? I was thinking he was alive, and maybe she didn't know it, for a while because of that scene in the episode where she was giving birth and he was in China? getting that panda.

And I assumed "freckles" was visiting Sawyer after they got back to L.A.

I wonder if Ben has to get everyone to go back to the island in order for him to be able to go back?

Oh, and what happened to the little time travel guy? I forgot his name and lost him in the drama.

OK those are my thoughts and questions... for now.

Green12 Enthusiast

Yeah Susie, I would say you had to be completely lost watching last night

Missys mom, lots and lots of questions...that I don't know the answer to either! I like to read the Lost Diary, lots of smarties on there putting some of the things together....I think it's thelostdiary.com

I got a little teary I have to admit when they left Jin behind, that was hard to see.

Daniel Faraday is the guys name in the zodiak thingy, the physicist guy. I don't know if they got moved with the island too because they seemed to bejust off shore...or are they now somewhere in the middle of nowhere?

And that was a little creepy when Miles was talking to Charlotte about trying so hard to get back here (so I take it she has been to the island before?)...then she says she was born here, what???

Hurley playing chess with Mr Ecko, Ben surprising Jack at the funeral home, and Locke in the coffin......SUPER creepy!

Sawyer jumping, I had a feeling he was going to do that.

I like Sawyer more and more and Jack less and less for some reason. Jack has too much pride I think and just barks orders without really thinking anything through, of course I might change my mind about that in the near future

I also can't wait to see what they plan to do with Sun and her father's company.....another thing I loved last night was the reunion of Penny and Desmond. Of course, Penny is Widmore's daughter.....more intrigue :D

missy'smom Collaborator

I loved the gumption that Sun had taking charge with her father and approaching Widmore! I wanted to say You Go Girl!

I know! I didn't know she had it in her

I meant to comment, what was it 3 weeks ago?, about Sun standing up to her father. I was like, "Go Sun"!!!

I am afraid though things are going to be ugly next season between Sun and possibly Jack, I think he might be the other one she blames for Jin's death. Also if she is teaming up with Widmore, that would mean they are going up against Ben and Sayid, right?

So I am totally bummed!!!! I watched the finale on high def and they had some weird delay/replay thing almost halfway through, I have now found out I missed about 10 minutes of the show :o I didn't see the part with Walt so i am going to have to watch it online at ABC to see the parts I missed.

If I'm not mistaken, Sun giving birth and Jin getting the panda were two different time periods. Sun giving birth was after she got off the island, and Jin getting the panda was when he was working for her father and trying to "suck up" to another businessman who had just gotten a new baby (pre-crash). If I'm mistaken, someoone please jump in and correct me!!!

Nope--you're right! The scenes with Jin and the panda were flash backs that were juxtiposed with flash forwards of Sun having her baby.

Thanks for the response.

I thought that was a possibility but can't see what it contributes to the story line  , other than to throw us off.

In the study linked above, the little girl switched to a gluten free diet and gained enough weight that that fat pad was replenished and surgery was not needed.   Here's the full article link... Hello, @Jordan Carlson, So glad you're feeling better.   Tecta is a proton pump inhibitor.  PPI's also interfere with the production of the intrinsic factor needed to absorb Vitamin B12.  Increasing the amount of B12 you supplement has helped overcome the lack of intrinsic factor needed to absorb B12. Proton pump inhibitors also reduce the production of digestive juices (stomach acids).  This results in foods not being digested thoroughly.  If foods are not digested sufficiently, the vitamins and other nutrients aren't released from the food, and the body cannot absorb them.  This sets up a vicious cycle. Acid reflux and Gerd are actually symptoms of producing too little stomach acid.  Insufficient stomach acid production is seen with Thiamine and Niacin deficiencies.  PPI's like Tecta also block the transporters that pull Thiamine into cells, preventing absorption of thiamine.  Other symptoms of Thiamine deficiency are difficulty swallowing, gagging, problems with food texture, dysphagia. Other symptoms of Thiamine deficiency are symptoms of ADHD and anxiety.  Vyvanse also blocks thiamine transporters contributing further to Thiamine deficiency.  Pristiq has been shown to work better if thiamine is supplemented at the same time because thiamine is needed to make serotonin.  Doctors don't recognize anxiety and depression and adult onset ADHD as early symptoms of Thiamine deficiency. Stomach acid is needed to digest Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in fruits and vegetables.  Ascorbic acid left undigested can cause intestinal upsets, anxiety, and heart palpitations.   Yes, a child can be born with nutritional deficiencies if the parents were deficient.  Parents who are thiamine deficient have offspring with fewer thiamine transporters on cell surfaces, making thiamine deficiency easier to develop in the children.  A person can struggle along for years with subclinical vitamin deficiencies.  Been here, done this.  Please consider supplementing with Thiamine in the form TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) which helps immensely with dysphagia and neurological symptoms like anxiety, depression, and ADHD symptoms.  Benfotiamine helps with improving intestinal health.  A B Complex and NeuroMag (a magnesium supplement), and Vitamin D are needed also.

@pothosqueen, Welcome to the tribe! You'll want to get checked for nutritional deficiencies and start on supplementation of B vitamins, especially Thiamine Vitamin B 1.   There's some scientific evidence that the fat pad that buffers the aorta which disappears in SMA is caused by deficiency in Thiamine.   In Thiamine deficiency, the body burns its stored fat as a source of fuel.  That fat pad between the aorta and digestive system gets used as fuel, too. Ask for an Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity test to look for thiamine deficiency.  Correction of thiamine deficiency can help restore that fat pad.   Best wishes for your recovery!   Interesting Reading: Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome in a 6-Year-Old Girl with Final Diagnosis of Celiac Disease https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31089433/#:~:text=Affiliations,tissue and results in SMAS.

Wow! You're pretty young to have a diagnosis of SMA syndrome. But youth also has its advantages when it comes to healing, without a doubt. You might be surprised to find out how your health improves and how much better you feel once you eliminate gluten from your diet. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that, when gluten is consumed, triggers an attack on the villous lining of the small bowel. This is the section of the intestines where all our nutrition is absorbed. It is made up of billions of tiny finger-like projections that create a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients. For the person with celiac disease, unchecked gluten consumption generates inflammation that wears down these fingers and, over time, greatly reduces the nutrient absorbing efficiency of the small bowel lining. This can generate a whole host of other nutrient deficiency related medical problems. We also now know that the autoimmune reaction to gluten is not necessarily limited to the lining of the small bowel such that celiac disease can damage other body systems and organs such as the liver and the joints and cause neurological problems.  It can take around two years for the villous lining to completely heal but most people start feeling better well before then. It's also important to realize that celiac disease can cause intolerance to some other foods whose protein structures are similar to gluten. Chief among them are dairy and oats but also eggs, corn and soy. Just keep that in mind.
