   YETI POETRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There once was a Yeti from Spain

His inseam was giant it was claimed

Yet when Emily measured him

It accidentally pleasured him

And now he no longer

Complains!

To some it may seem,

The point's the inseam,

That measurement down to the ankle.

But I must submit,

In truth and to wit,

The subject is that which does dangle.

:P

Boy that Yeti sure looks better if we DON'T SHAVE him!!!! OMG...reminds me of frisking the wookie. Emily- I KNOW you were here for that. Must find it!!! Oh..here it is:Open Original Shared Link

Ahhh! Hilarious, Bev...I OFTEN think of our Frisking the Wookie thread, one of the funniest, I would say, in recent memory. I believe, no surprise, that Richard began that particular madness, as well...

Emily now a yeti-pleasurer! Mygawd, just how many hats can I be expected to wear?

Yeti confetti, thrown into the air,

From a great white beast, with billowing hair,

He lopes down the aisle, to a sweet wedding chorus,

And ends his parade,

In the arms of Chuck Norris.

And who will be braiding the seashells into the yeti's hair?

Okay, Bev...you'll be with me on this one: The new phrase to coin for 2007...

LET THE YETI LEAD.

We have to officially define it:

To act on a hunch:

"She booted me out...she could somehow tell that I'd been with someone else. She let the yeti lead..."

OR

To lose all sense of propriety:

"Man, lookit the loser she's making out with! Talk about letting the Yeti lead!"

OR

A suggestive invitation:

"C'mon...follow me. Let my Yeti lead".

OR

To have a sudden bathroom crisis:

"Gaaaack!! Outta my way...Yeti leading...Yeti leading...!"

Let's see......it could be "The Yeti was leading that parade."

As in:

"She booted me out...she could somehow tell that I'd been with someone else. The yeti was leading that parade.."

"Gaaaack!! Outta my way...Yeti leading my parade...Yeti leading my parade...!"

OR it could mean a place where lots off BS (poop) gets slung around!

As in:

The Yeti led the parade in that presidential debate.

OR

We had a couple of drinks and let the Yeti lead THAT parade.

Or seductive:

Let my yeti lead your parade, baby!

Way to start a subtopic Em!! <can i call u em?>

I'm glad I'm not still at my coffeehouse. Earlier I'm sure some there had to think I was out of my mind, barely containing what could've been minutes of wild giggles.

(Hey!!! I guess this means the perfuming effects weren't so bad after all! Yay! :) )

I'd love to add to the "Let the Yeti Lead" definitions & examples but I need to calm down and probably eat. <phew! catching breath finally>

Edit P.S. OMG Bev too! The tears have restarted!

I'm back. Perfect, Stepford neighbor just did one of her famous pop-ins. Thank God I was dressed and house is quite clean. Otherwise, Dingy hides in back. But, I did have to hide the Yeti. That, my friends, she would NOT have understood.

Oh Daughter_of_TheSea!!!!!!!

I'd think an artfully arranged variety would be purrrrrrrrrr-fect. (Yeti's are known to almost purr w/ the right under-chin scritch)

But I must admit, I'd yield to the taste of someone more aesthetically inclined.

Plenty o' Yeti to go around!!!

P.S. Do you also have a bucket of shark's teeth? My dad used to live in Venice FL and would find them all the time.

P.P.S. I still can't try to add to the "Let the Yeti Lead" theme w/out near incapacitive (incapaciTAtive?) laughter . . . .

I'll get out the full raingear & walk the hominid beast through the carwash mySELF if that's what it takes!

Stinky? Not on MY watch! I won't allow it!! <_<

And I'm now in that curious position of wanting to clean up some before the professional housecleaners show up tomorrow

:lol::lol: Excellent...My 10 year-old just huffed off to bed after he sat in front of his math homework, doodling, playing with his calculator, clearly avoiding the job ahead. I had been walking by, telling him to get it done. Finally, I stood up from said computer, walked over to his workdesk and calmly said, "Jack...if you don't lead this yeti....who will?!" Beautiful. Interesting how Yetis and Wookies are noticeably similar, and here both appear...too tired to make any humoUrous sense of this maintenant. Will ponder it in bed. No postulating while I'm asleep! No fair, don't wanna miss a thing!

You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.
    • Ello
I wish Dr’s would have these discussions with their patients. So frustrating but will continue to do research. Absolutely love this website. I will post any updates on my testing and results.  Thank you

Losing 12" of your small bowel is going to present challenges for you in nutritional uptake because you are losing a significant amount of nutritional absorption surface area. You will need to focus on consuming foods that are nutritionally dense and also probably look at some good supplements. If indeed you are having issues with gluten you will need to educate yourself as to how gluten is hidden in the food supply. There's more to it than just avoiding the major sources of gluten like bread and pasta. It is hidden in so many things you would never expect to find it in like canned tomato soup and soy sauce just to name a few. It can be in pills and medications.  Also, your "yellow diarrhea, constipation and bloating" though these are classic signs of a gluten disorder, could also be related to the post surgical shorter length of your small bowel causing incomplete processing/digestion of food.
    • Ello
Yes this information helps. I will continue to be pro active with this issues I am having. More testing to be done. Thank you so much for your response.
    • trents
There are two gluten-related disorders that share many of the same symptoms but differ in nature from each other. One is known as celiac disease or "gluten intolerance". By nature, it is an autoimmune disorder, meaning the ingestion of gluten triggers the body to attack it's own tissues, specifically the lining of the small bowel. This attack causes inflammation and produces antibodies that can be detected in the blood by specific tests like the TTG-IGA test you had. Over time, if gluten is not withheld, this inflammation can cause severe damage to the lining of the small bowel and even result in nutrient deficiency related health issues since the small bowel lining is organ where all the nutrition found in our food is absorbed.  The other is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity or just "gluten sensitivity") which we know less about and are unsure of the exact mechanism of action. It is not an autoimmune disorder and unlike celiac disease it does not damage the lining of the small bowel, though, like celiac disease, it can cause GI distress and it can also do other kinds of damage to the body. It is thought to be more common than celiac disease. Currently, we cannot test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out to arrive at a diagnosis of NCGS. Both disorders require elimination of gluten from the diet.  Either of these disorders can find their onset at any stage of life. We know that celiac disease has a genetic component but the genes are inactive until awakened by some stress event. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% develop active celiac disease. The incidence of NCGS is thought to be considerably higher. I hope this helps.
