I have to call my old college at 11. John and I might take a job as resident advisors. Where I went to school, they hire adults who are in the work force to be resident advisors, there dorms are townhouses and apartments on campus. So now that we are married they are also hiring and we might be moving there (just across the river) They don't pay you, you live on campus, free of charge and only need to pay for cable and phone. It would help us out in saving up for a down payment on a house of our own in the future.

Hey, Guys!

The day after...but the party continues, as it is my DS's birthday. So, gotta haul up the festive feeling for another day. Exhausted emoticon here.

Ate profusely yesterday. It sounds like that syndrome which compels one to consume a chocolate each time one passes by the tray is fairly common. The worst part was, I was rather hypoglycemic throughout the day (bizzare, as I did not exercise and sugar was plentiful), so I had a terrific reason to keep pounding back the calories.

So, bro is here tonight, Susie, with new girlfriend...keep you posted, as I will be shamelessly scrutinizing her. Sorry about your unfortunate (but yes, amusing to visualize) accident. According to DH, you may be able to sue. People attempt these things frequently, and he must get involved as the insurance guy. Are you suffering severe mental anguish? Did it completely ruin your Christmas? I think you should explore the option to get some recompense from Stepford Sally, that heinous woman...

M-m-m--sounds like Emily may be on to something here......

Sleeps through Christmas is exhaustipated too- too much turkey, chocolate anything that wasn't nailed down and, more importantly, from staying up all night reading DON'T HASSLE THE HOFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK- so I didn't REALLY read it yet, just selected excerpts and let me tell you- the writing is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I can't stop laughing. I was just reading about him being in a scene with Tom Jones (you know- What's New Pussycat? Hooked on a Feeling?). SCARRRRRRYYYYYY.

Just read a review of it on amazon: "Seriously, I simply cannot conceive of anyone actually purchasing or reading this book. No one's life could possibly be that empty. "

Obviously he doesn't know how badly my brain has degenerated!!!!!!!!!

I am braving the shops tomorrow - exchanging gifts and NEED new slippers ...I must be mad  ...it will be quite EEEeevil!!!!!!!!!

...but now I must force another mince pie & cream down and snooze on the couch (conserving and building energies) before a plethora of visitors arrive

WHERE will it all end!!!!:lol:

The other day I was so bored and it was miserble outside that I sat and watched Spice World on TV.....ugh!

CarlaB Enthusiast

Well, Bev, at least you found a book your Lyme brain can handle! I couldn't read paragraphs for quite a while (still have a little bit of a problem with them), so books have been out of my life for a couple years. <_<

Nikki, hope the hangover is over soon!

Susie, but if you do sue, be sure to also ask for lost wages as I don't think they'll hire you to care for their dog any longer.

So we survived Christmas dinner :) I had a little too much wine though, they had this very sweet PA wine...mmm! Susie you would have enjoyed it.

I am fine today, the injury was really not that serious - just rather startling - pulled a few more thorns (seriously) out of my running pants and the fleece vest - - also a few straggling hoglets (with knickers)............

OMG a lawsuit!!!!!!!!!!!! This is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! I'll sue that Stepford android!!!!!!!!!!!! (insert diabolical emoticon)

Susie- We did our honeymoon in the Finger Lakes, it was so nice up there. We didn't get to any wineries though since we were short on time.

My wine drinking at dinner was more than usual. I was ok sitting, but then I had to go upstairs to go to the bathroom. I was wearing this nice plaid skirt and sweater and my Mary Janes with the clunky heels...I tripped over their bathroom scale and almost landed face first into the toliet!

That wine was very much like candy for me....Thankfully MIL was drinking just as much...

Yes it did, and I'm happy to report that I had the nicest gentle buzz going on

I shouldn't laugh, but

Ah wine

Then I sat up in the bathroom thinking....did they hear that? LOL! I am usually so behaved when out in public...not this day though.

Nikki, I am doing exactly the same thing tomorrow...going out for new slippers, which I informed everyone I needed but did NOT receive...are the shops open on Boxing Day over there? They are here, but I shan't venture out. The radio speaks about fistfights breaking out due to squabbling over much-coveted parking spots (Walmart staff had to call authorities, as there were several brawls happening...)

Is this what we've become?!

Susie, but if you do sue, be sure to also ask for lost wages as I don't think they'll hire you to care for their dog any longer.

...One hopes...

Mygawd, you yanks don't have the 26th off as a stat holiday?? Egregious!!

Nicola I'm coming to England next year.......budge around and make room for me and the dingos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Susie!! Get your prepositions correct...it's "budge up"! Budging around sounds like something for which I'd be called upon to construct a flowchart...

Actually, it sounds vaguely naughty...

:lol::lol:

I am fine today, the injury was really not that serious - just rather startling - pulled a few more thorns (seriously) out of my running pants and the fleece vest - - also a few straggling hoglets (with knickers)............

All of those things are claimable...S.S. (Stepford Sally) should bloody well be paying for several new running pants and fleece pieces, what with yours all blood-soaked, torn, mangled...she should be amending your hair situation as only a paid visit to the best hairdresser in town can do, and don't get me STARTED on the spa treatments for your whiplash and torn (fabricate fancy-sounding ligaments name here)...

Then I sat up in the bathroom thinking....did they hear that? LOL! I am usually so behaved when out in public...not this day though.

Wow...Usually we celiacs are worried that others are hearing....other things...from our respective bathroom stalls. I almost welcome another embarrassing sound!...

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Another reason why I ventured upstairs to their 2nd story bathroom...more private :) the other bathroom they have is a 1/2 bath but sits right off the kitchen where everyone was gathering. I don't like feeling like I have an audience while I piddle!

You are good Emily - top marks!! :D Tis indeed 'Budge up and never around

I don't think to budge around is naughty??.....but you may have to after I finished eating (my derriere is expanding due to excessively fine foods!! )..budge around Nikki.

I can only fit 1 dingo beside me now. (the girls will have to take turns)

Am planning on a diet and gym regime of epic proportions come January!! ;)

Yes, the sales started today (Boxing Day) but I couldn't stomach it ....was feeling too fragile

Hopefully tomorrow will be less manic  ...I have a set plan of almost military precision - get in - exchange - get OUT!!!....no dawdling, mooching, or LOOKING at the HALF PRICE goods that we bought for the full amount

...wish me luck....

 With Annie, Miss Fatty-fat, well, we can possibly only fit half a dingo......she's been eating Stinker's food whilst I am away or in the shower!!!!!!!!!! I just discovered this NAUGHTY phenomenon..............good gawd - - now I know why she's fatter than EVER.......

mommy is also......alas I haven't been into anyone else's dog food....that I know of......

GOOD GAWD!!!!!! Am in my usual post-holiday ennui. BAH!!!!!!! Next year I'm going some place quite fun, where we actually hear a THANK YOU when a gift is opened......

BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!! Susie is cranky.......oh adn look at this, making me even crankier:

I am supposed to go out tonight w/ a dear friend of mine and another girl whom we went to high school with.....said girl is a FAMOUS potter/ceramicist.......dear gawd.......very successful career - with things in Sundance catalog and other important places........ intimidating (she's a goof, though, quite fun and mad)

BAH!!!!!!!! Just want to stay home and be cranky.........FREEZING COLD HERE wtih HUGE winds!!!!!!!! :o

A belated Merry Christmas to all the sillies in sillyville!

And like some of the others on this thread, there was some particularly good Christmas cheer* going on for our holiday.

*Christmas cheer = good alcohol :)

Hi,  My 7 year daughter has complained of this in the past, which I thought were part of her glutening symptom, but more recently I have come to figure out it's part of her histamine overload symptom. This one symptom was part of her broader profile, which included irritability, extreme hunger, confusion, post-nasal drip. You might want to look up "histamine intolerance". I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.
    • lizzie42
My 5yo was diagnosed with celiac last year by being tested after his sister was diagnosed. We are very strict on the gluten-free diet, but unsure what his reactions are as he was diagnosed without many symptoms other than low ferritin.  He had a school party where his teacher made gluten-free gingerbread men. I almost said no because she made it in her kitchen but I thought it would be ok.  Next day and for a few after his behavior is awful. Hitting, rude, disrespectful. Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?
    • trents
Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.
    • trents
I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.
