This is too funny...

I've just posted some fairly serious stuff on newbie threads. Can you imagine what they immediately think when my response, with this avatar, flashes on the screen? "Whoooooooaaaa....I ain't encouraging communication with this hermaphrodite-type freak....." :o:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah.....this can quite easily slip my mind at times. I believe he came home from the studio for a quick dinner dressed as Gaylord once. Full makeup, flowing platinum wig, enormous false teeth, huge, bug-eyed glasses...we were such a jaded family by this time that it was not even mentioned. "Pass the gravy, Dad, but watch that lacy sleeve of yours"..... :rolleyes:

OK, I'm back . . . had to fix pizza with my daughter. Curious thing . . . she hated pizza before for the Celiac diagnosis. Now she loves it. Actually requests it (gluten-free, of course).

One morning it dawned on him he was henpecked.

She nailed him. He screwed up. He was finished. He was familiar with the drill so he flew the coop. He could hear her cackling as he headed out to get lathed.

Actually.......

I had a great-uncle who was rather a hateful old drunk, and among several demented verbal exercises, he was obsessed with making puns. I mean obsessed. And they'd get progressively stupider the more he went on. To this day, I kinda feel my stomach tighten when I hear a pun beginning.... <_<

Perhaps BOTH the process & the amusement leanto lean towards the mathy noggin.

Now she'd have to stop by Tar-zhay (she fancied frenchified spellings -phonettique or not) to replace the Parquet. It'll keep in the trunk during the meeting won't it? As vise president, she'd be expected at the The Women's Initiative Guild (or T.W.I.G.) tonight.

OMG- you ARE my mom! Oh my God- when I was 10, she wouldn't even swear (as in say "arse" or "damn"). By the time I was 25, we had her burping farting and calling me an a$#@$%$$. How far we fall :lol: :lol: :lol:

Happy Saturday, all!

Wow, we got 32 cm of heavy snow yesterday. That meant quite a shovelling session last night, and now I'm not even walking like my Mom, but like my Dad...... :o

So, has he seen his shadow? Crap, I hope not....Six more weeks of this?

Well, today is my birthday, so as the resident groundhog I am here to say that there will be no more winter! Snow and cold are right out.

I started more wheat products as my Dr. requested for the Tissue Transglutaminase Iga Antibody. mye result Value <1.0 Value interpretation: <15.0 Antibody not detected > or =15.0 Antibody detected I do not understand any of it.       Surgery was in April 2023 due adhesions wrapped around my small bowel which caused blockage and had to be removed. Adhesions were so badly entangled that Surgeon could not cut out them, so the resection was performed. July 2025 started having severe yellow diarrhea and sometimes constipation. Just had another episode and was tested for celiac. Blood test...

      There are two gluten-related disorders that share many of the same symptoms but differ in nature from each other. One is known as celiac disease or "gluten intolerance". By nature, it is an autoimmune disorder, meaning the ingestion of gluten triggers the body to attack it's own tissues, specifically the lining of the small bowel. This attack causes inflammation and produces antibodies that can be detected in the blood by specific tests like the TTG-IGA test you had. Over time, if gluten is not withheld, this inflammation can cause severe damage to the lining of the small bowel and even result in nutrient deficiency related health issues since the small bowel lining is organ where all the nutrition found in our food is absorbed.  The other is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity or just "gluten sensitivity") which we know less about and are unsure of the exact mechanism of action. It is not an autoimmune disorder and unlike celiac disease it does not damage the lining of the small bowel, though, like celiac disease, it can cause GI distress and it can also do other kinds of damage to the body. It is thought to be more common than celiac disease. Currently, we cannot test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out to arrive at a diagnosis of NCGS. Both disorders require elimination of gluten from the diet.  Either of these disorders can find their onset at any stage of life. We know that celiac disease has a genetic component but the genes are inactive until wakened by some stress event. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% develop active celiac disease. The incidence of NCGS is thought to be considerably higher. After eating all that wheat product my body exploded with all sorts of symptoms. I stop gluten ASAP. I am still in the healing process. I started having issues after my surgery.

I ask because different labs used different reference ranges so scores without a reference range aren't very helpful.

Just had another episode and was tested for celiac. Blood test stated 1.5 after eating gluten for 2 weeks. Lipase level was 120. Having an CT scan to check the pancreas. I have never had any issues eating gluten and now I am so fearful that I might have celiac. Has anyone had a small bowel resection? I am 65 years old. UGGH! I am still feeling bloating etc.

      If your tTg-IgA was 28 and positive is at 3, you are nearly 10x over the positive marker, so the most likely explanation by far would be celiac disease. I also do not understand why your doctor would not want to run the blood test, which is the normal first step in the diagnosis process.
